Marvel Spoils Phase 6’s New Overpowered Hero Franklin Richards Debut

It appears that Marvel might have unintentionally unveiled its potential strongest new superhero prematurely. Pictures linked to Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have given fans an early, surprising glimpse of a character who could turn out to be one of the franchise’s most powerful future members.

A newly unveiled Funko Pop! series provides fans with a clear glimpse of baby Franklin Richards together with Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, thereby confirming his presence in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“. Although the film’s promotional trailer hinted at Sue being pregnant, this merchandise release strongly implies that she will deliver Franklin within the movie. This could pave the way for one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In the packaged edition, the collectible item featuring Invisible Woman and her child is distinctly marked as “Invisible Woman & Franklin,” eliminating any uncertainty regarding the infant’s true identity. Previously, Sue’s cute baby had been depicted in similar digital formats online, but it wasn’t until now that it was officially confirmed to be Franklin.

In the third photo, we get a closer look at the miniature Franklin Pop, who is dressed in a little version of the Fantastic Four’s iconic white and blue uniform from the film, making him look just like a smaller member of the team.

The movie titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is slated for release on July 25, 2025, marking its 37th appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision, this film represents a fresh start for Marvel’s First Family. The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Fan anticipation for the film has escalated, particularly following a recent sneak peek of the Human Torch’s flames in action. With the stakes at an all-time high and the Fantastic Four ready to shine in the MCU, the introduction of Franklin Richards could potentially reshape everything.

Franklin Richard’s MCU Entrance is a Huge Deal

To fans of comics, this is a significant advancement: Franklin Richards isn’t merely a character from the Fantastic Four; he’s one of the most potent entities across the entire Marvel Universe. In the comic books, Franklin is categorized as an Omega-level mutant whose abilities are on par with, and in some instances surpassing, those of the Celestials. He possesses the capability to alter matter at a molecular level, craft entire universes from scratch, and release catastrophic telekinetic and telepathic blasts. What sets him apart is that he exhibits these powers from his childhood years, which makes him equally formidable and unpredictable due to his still-evolving control.

At this point in the Multiverse Saga, introducing Franklin carries significant consequences. As Marvel prepares for “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars,” and as cosmic perils loom, the emergence of a character with universe-altering powers could reshape the power dynamics within the MCU. By the conclusion of “First Steps,” it’s anticipated that the Fantastic Four will be part of Earth-616’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Franklin might assume a pivotal role in these events. If the comics are any guide, Franklin Richards could prove to be more than just Sue and Reed’s son; he might hold the key to saving or restructuring the multiverse itself.
