Second Dinner has shared additional information about the forthcoming season of Marvel Snap’s New X-Men! In May 2025, the New X-Men will journey to Xavier’s Institute, where they will be tasked with protecting the school from an aggressive Sentinel that opposes mutants. Keep reading for updates on all the new Marvel Snap New X-Men cards, their release dates, and other details.
Marvel Snap New X-Men cards revealed: Esme Cuckoo, Xorn, and Surge
- Esme Cuckoo [3/4]: [On Reveal] Copy a card from your deck into your hand. Set its Cost to 3 and Power to 4.
- Xorn [2/3]: After any 3 or 4-Cost card is played here, move it to another location.
- Surge [2/2]: [On Reveal] Give the top card of your deck -1 Cost and +1 Power. After you play it, repeat this ability.
- Prodigy [3/4]: [On Reveal] If this is in the back row, copy the text of the card in front of it.
- Elixir: [2/3] [On Reveal] One of your cards destroyed last turn gets revived here.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to see Esme Cuckoo stepping into Marvel Snap! She’s one of five Stepford Cuckoos, each being a clone of Emma Frost. In the latest New X-Men series, she teams up with Xorn, Surge, Prodigy, and Elixir, making it quite an exciting lineup for fans like me!
Marvel Snap May 2025 release schedule
As for the launch dates for the latest Marvel Snap cards, Surge and Captain Carter will debut together on May 6. Then, Prodigy will be released a week later on May 13. Following this, you’ll see Elixir on May 20, and finally, Xorn on May 27.
- Pit of Exile: Cards with 10 or more Power can’t be played here.
- Genosha: After turn 5, all but your highest-Cost here are destroyed.
Apart from these characters, the New X-Men season for Marvel Snap introduces two new locations: The Pit of Exile and Genosha. You’ll also find a variety of fresh avatars, versions, and emoticons. These can be obtained by finishing various albums which will become available on May 8th, May 15th, and May 30th.
