The latest update to Marvel Snap, themed around X-Men: Origins of Apocalypse, is now live and features powerful, legendary X-Men characters. Leading the charge is En Sabah Nur, also known as Apocalypse, and his formidable Horsemen. With the update already halfway through its run, it’s a good time to take a look at the most popular and effective decks currently being used by players.
I’ve put together a guide to the 5 best decks in Marvel Snap right now, explaining how each one works. The game has seen a lot of new cards recently, but some older, reliable decks are still performing well. I’ve chosen these decks based on over 50 hours of gameplay in the last 20 days, plus data from popular Marvel Snap statistics sites. Using these decks should significantly improve your win rate.
Best Current Meta Decks in Marvel Snap
1. Mr. Negative – Star Lord
The most consistently successful deck in Marvel Snap right now is the classic Mr. Negative – Star Lord strategy. It’s a straightforward deck built around playing the Mr. Negative card, and once you get it into play, Star Lord: Master of The Sun really boosts its power. Even if you don’t get Mr. Negative out, the deck still has plenty of strong cards that can win you the match. It’s a reliable choice for climbing the ranks and reaching Infinite.
2. Toxic Surfer – Odin
This deck, which relies on repeatedly revealing cards, is very straightforward to play in Marvel Snap. Its strongest cards are Hazmat, Silver Surfer, and Iron Heart, and any one of them can often secure a win on its own.
Keep in mind that playing Wong and Mystique one after the other is key to maximizing this deck’s power. Odin is also a vital component. Beyond those core cards, you’ll have support from cards like Rogue and Sera, which provide additional benefits. Overall, this is a strong deck to use when starting out.
3. End of Turn
The End of Turn deck is currently very popular and powerful. When played correctly with sufficient ramp, it can generate incredibly high scores. Key cards for controlling the deck include Invisible Woman – Fantastic 4 First Steps, Jocasta, and Prodigy.
After establishing your initial plays with the controller cards, you can bring out powerful cards like Bruce Banner, Thena, Sunspot, and Havoc. This deck, which also includes Isca: The Unbeaten and Fantasticar, is well-rounded and strong in most game situations. It’s particularly effective against opponents using Ghost cards, significantly increasing your chances of winning. This makes it a great choice for players above level 75 looking to climb the ranks.
4. High Evolutionary Energy Farm
Even with many different deck options available, the High Evolutionary deck remains a top performer in Marvel Snap, consistently appearing in the highest-ranked leaderboards. This deck relies on powerful, established cards, and the High Evolutionary himself maximizes their abilities.
This deck relies heavily on powerful attackers like Hulk and Abomination. Cyclops, Shocker, and Scorpion provide additional damage, while Enchantress and Sunspot can really turn the tide in the late game. It’s a really enjoyable deck to play.
5. Shou – Lao the Undying
Despite being weakened in the last update, Shou-Lao remains incredibly dominant. A deck built around Shou-Lao has a win rate of over 60% across more than 2700 games, proving that Shou-Lao: The Undying is a key card for success.
For an extra power boost, consider adding Moonstone, Captain Carter, Sam Wilson Captain America, and Maverick to your deck. Just keep in mind that this is a pretty complicated deck to play. If you can master its strategy, though, you’ll quickly climb the ranks in Marvel Snap.
