Marvel Rumors Eye Jordan Peele To Direct MCU Film After Turning Down ‘Blade’

Although Jordan Peele decided not to direct the reboot of Blade within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rumors are circulating that Marvel still wants him involved with a major superhero project. He reportedly had discussions with Marvel about potentially directing the X-Men reboot, but ultimately passed on that opportunity as well. Despite turning down both projects, sources say Peele remains on good terms with Marvel Studios, and future collaborations haven’t been ruled out.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman (reported by World of Reel), Marvel is considering Jordan Peele to direct an upcoming, currently unannounced project. While details are scarce, many believe it will be a horror film, given Peele’s background in socially conscious horror. Marvel previously discussed having him direct Blade and X-Men, recognizing his skill at blending relevant social issues into dark and thought-provoking stories.

Marvel is reportedly considering Jordan Peele to help get the Blade reboot back on track. There’s also been talk of Peele potentially directing a Midnight Sons project, which would focus on a team of darker, more complex heroes like Blade, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange. With Marvel planning a sequel to Werewolf by Night, opportunities for Peele to contribute to the MCU could open up. However, his involvement is currently just speculation, and official confirmation is still needed.

I was really excited for Jordan Peele’s next movie, but it looks like Universal has taken it off their schedule after a bunch of delays. We haven’t heard anything about when it might actually come out, though they say it’s still being worked on. Luckily, Peele’s staying busy! He’s now producing a horror film with Sam Raimi – it’s based on this creepy short video called Portrait of God that’s been going around online and has gotten millions of views. It sounds seriously unsettling, and I’m definitely intrigued!

The director hasn’t had much success with his recent horror films. Earlier this year, HIM, starring Marlon Wayans, didn’t connect with audiences, despite its interesting premise of blending sports and horror. He also produced Monkey Man with Dev Patel, which, while critically praised and featuring impressive action, didn’t become a major hit. Even the director’s own film, Nope, earned less money than expected, largely because it was a more expensive production.

Jordan Peele is currently working on several projects, including a remake of the classic horror film The People Under the Stairs.
