Marvel Rumor Reveals When We’ll Allegedly See First Avengers: Doomsday Footage (And It’s Sooner Than I Thought)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is always growing, with new films and shows becoming available in theaters and on Disney+. Currently, everyone is most excited for the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday, which will unite many superhero teams to fight against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. We now have a possible timeframe for when the first look at the movie might be released, and it’s coming sooner than expected.

We don’t know much about Avengers: Doomsday yet, but excitement is definitely growing. There’s a lot of speculation about what directors The Russo Brothers are planning, and fans are eager for official news. According to a report from insider Daniel Richtman (via SuperheroHype), the first teaser trailer could be released with the movie Avatar: Fire and Ash in theaters. This suggests we might get a first look at the footage sometime in December.

As of right now, this information hasn’t been officially confirmed, so it’s best to be cautious about the rumor. However, it makes sense that Disney would want a large audience to see the Doomsday trailer. Considering the huge success of the Avatar movies, it’s logical that the studio would promote these two films together.

Disney+: from $9.99 a month with an ad-supported plan
Disney+ is where you can stream all things Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Avatar. A new plan with ads starts at $9.99 per month (increasing to $11.99/month beginning October 21, 2025). You can also remove the ads for $15.99 a month ($18.99 a month starting October 21, 2025), or save 16% by paying $159.99 for a full year. View Deal

Our understanding of Avatar: Fire and Ash is still limited, but excitement for James Cameron’s third Avatar film is very strong. The Way of Water earned a lot of money at the box office, proving that people are still interested in the Na’vi, and most experts believe the next movie will also be a huge success. Because of this, many movie fans may get their first look at Avengers: Doomsday while watching the trailers. If the reports are accurate, I’ll certainly be watching the trailers before we go back to Pandora.

As we’ve discussed before, there’s a lot of excitement building for the next Avengers film. The Doomsday cast reveal showed that it will feature a massive group of heroes, with different teams clashing. Specifically, we’ll see the Avengers, the Thunderbolts (also known as New Avengers), the Fantastic Four, and even the original stars of the X-Men movies. It’s still unclear how these groups will interact, but the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene suggests a confrontation with the Fantastic Four will happen during the movie.

With so much curiosity surrounding Doomsday, fans have been creating their own stories and ideas about what could happen. Hopefully, this shows there’s strong interest in the next Avengers film and it will be a success. The Russo Brothers face a tough challenge following Endgame, which became the highest-grossing movie ever.

Everything will become clear when Avengers: Endgame comes out in theaters on December 18th of next year, as part of the 2026 movie lineup. Before that, though, we have Avatar: Fire and Ash, scheduled for release on December 19th of this year. We’re hoping a preview for a Marvel movie will be shown alongside this big release.
