The Green Goblin is back in the latest Spider-Man movie, sporting a design that recalls his original appearance. The film features a battle between Norman Osborn and two Marvel heroes. Throughout the live-action Spider-Man films – whether starring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, or Tom Holland – the villains have consistently been strong and memorable.
Willem Dafoe’s performance as the Green Goblin is arguably the best villain in any Spider-Man film. He perfectly captured the complex rivalry with Spider-Man, even working well with two different actors in the role. Now that he’s recently appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s unlikely we’ll see the Green Goblin in future Marvel movies, making a TV series a great way to continue the character’s story.
Marvel Has Revealed What Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Green Goblin Looks Like

Although the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie won’t be in theaters until July 31, 2026, Marvel fans don’t have to wait for Spider-Man content! The Spidey and his Amazing Friends TV show is back, and it’s a great option for families with younger children to enjoy together. Parents can watch along with their kids!
If you’re new to the world of Marvel, Spidey and his Amazing Friends is a fantastic place to start, bringing together characters from across the franchise. Season 4 just dropped on Disney+ on November 26th! This season features the return of the Green Goblin, and Spider-Man and Captain America have to work together to stop him – there’s even a moment where the Green Goblin briefly gets his hands on Captain America’s shield.
Green Goblin’s design in the cartoon is fantastic. He’s covered head-to-toe in purple clothing and has striking features like green skin and pointy ears, complete with shoulder and knee pads. This look perfectly suits the cartoon’s more playful style and really emphasizes his ‘goblin’ nature. It’s a significant departure from how he’s been portrayed in live-action movies.
How Spidey And His Amazing Friends Season 4’s Green Goblin Compares To Other Versions Of The Marvel Villain?
Because the Spider-Man films are so well-loved, Willem Dafoe’s portrayal of the Green Goblin is instantly recognizable. However, the Green Goblin’s appearance in season 4 of Spidey and his Amazing Friends is different from how he looked in both the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies and Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the earlier films, Norman Osborn wore green armor and a very noticeable helmet.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this character removed his helmet and customized his look with found items like a purple hoodie and a brown pouch. The Green Goblin from the Spider-Man TV series is a more faithful adaptation of the character from Marvel Comics compared to the live-action shows.
In the comics, Green Goblin uses a mask and suit to create his green, goblin-like appearance. However, in the Spider-Man show, his green skin is a natural part of him.
