- Final characters and storyline updates will roll out before content development fully stops.
- Servers remain playable until shutdown, with advance shut down notice promised for players.
I’m really bummed to hear that NetEase Games is shutting down MARVEL Mystic Mayhem. They just announced that the game will be going offline, and they’re stopping all new updates on April 1st, 2026. It’s sad news for those of us who’ve been enjoying this team-based tactical RPG!
MARVEL Mystic Mayhem’s shut down announcement comes just after six months of release
You can continue playing and accessing all current game content until the servers are officially shut down, and we’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice before that happens. Starting December 25th, 2025, we’ll also be reducing in-game purchases and offering small rewards to thank players who continue playing until the very end.
Over the next few months, we’ll be releasing characters and story elements we’ve already been working on. This includes several new 3-Star characters: Jean Grey, Venom, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Morgan le Fay.

A new story chapter called “Dream in the Hive” will be released in January. However, the developers have announced that they won’t be adding any new characters or story content after March 19, 2026. This announcement is unexpected, considering the game only came out six months ago.
This is the second game based on a Marvel property from NetEase Games to be canceled in the past two years. Previously, Marvel Super War, a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, was discontinued on June 27, 2024.
MARVEL Mystic Mayhem was a team-based role-playing game where players could build squads of Marvel heroes and villains. It was announced in October 2024 and released on June 25, 2025. Players combined different character classes – like Striker, Defender, Controller, and Fighter – to create their ideal team.
I’m sad to share another shutdown announcement. It’s been a difficult month for mobile games, and unfortunately, several are planning to close in the new year. I’m hoping things improve soon.
