Marvel may be staging a Heartstopper reunion in the MCU (yes, seriously)

As a hardcore Marvel fan and someone who’s been following the MCU since its early days, I can’t help but get excited about the latest rumors surrounding Joe Locke’s character in “Agatha: All Along” and Kit Connor potentially joining the franchise as Hulkling.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the possibility of unexpected events is greater than ever, particularly during the Multiverse Saga. Previously, such surprises were intriguing, but now, with the arrival of heroes from various universes and the introduction of numerous new characters set to leave lasting impacts on the MCU, this notion holds even more weight.

I’m thrilled about the fresh faces joining the cast of “Agatha All Along” on Disney Plus, including the intriguing character named Teen, brought to life by the talented Joe Locke from “Heartstopper.” Many fans, including myself, have a theory that this newcomer could be none other than Billy Kaplan, Wanda Maximoff’s son, also known as the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If true, this means we might be in for an exciting reunion of sorts between “Heartstopper” and the MCU!

Marvel reportedly interested in casting Kit Connor as Hulkling

Based on reports from reliable Marvel sources, MyTimeToShineHello and Alex Perez suggest that Kit Connor may be chosen to play Hulkling in the MCU. However, it remains to be seen if this will indeed occur. The intrigue lies in the fact that both insiders have independently heard similar rumors.

Connor is well-known for portraying Nick Nelson in “Heartstopper” on Netflix. Much like Joe Locke, his acting career has soared high due to this role, making it likely that he may join a major Hollywood franchise soon. It’s common for successful careers to follow a similar trajectory as Locke’s.

Marvel may be staging a Heartstopper reunion in the MCU (yes, seriously)

As a gamer, I can understand that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is vast and intricate with stories spanning across the world, galaxies, timelines, and even different universes. It’s not uncommon for actors to work together in one project but not necessarily meet again due to the complexity of the narrative. However, it’s the character that Marvel intends for Connor to portray that guarantees a crossover.

Introduced to Marvel Comics in 2005 through “Young Avengers,” Hulkling possesses powers akin to the Hulk, but with an added ability to shape-shift. This versatility goes beyond super-strength. In this comic series, Hulkling formed a significant relationship with Wiccan, formerly known as Billy Kaplan. Their union marked a pivotal moment for LGBTQ+ representation within Marvel Comics and the comic book industry at large. Recognized as “Marvel’s most prominent gay couple,” their relationship has been celebrated by fans and critics alike. They made history together when they got married.

If Connor is chosen to play Hulkling in the MCU, it’s almost certain that his character will encounter Locke’s (assuming Locke portrays Billy) at some point. This isn’t an unexpected development, as there could be two distinct storylines preparing the way for Hulkling’s appearance.

As a huge fan, I’m excited to see the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) bringing back the Hulk storyline with shows like “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” and “Captain America: Brave New World.” With all this Hulk action going on, it wouldn’t shock me if Hulkling made an appearance in the MCU as well. Plus, there are rumors swirling about Billy’s return after “Agatha All Along,” potentially in a “Young Avengers” project. Since Hulkling is a key member of the Young Avengers in the comics, it feels natural that he’d join the team in the MCU as well.

Connor and Locke have an outstanding screen connection, which will undoubtedly be showcased once more in “Heartstopper” season 3. Thus, they are ideal choices to portray the love story between Hulkling and Wiccan if Marvel decides to tell that tale. This casting would not only be a brilliant choice based on their chemistry but also potentially attract a vast number of new fans for the MCU.
