As a huge Marvel fan, I’m really excited about Cyclops coming back in Avengers: Doomsday! He’s always been a powerhouse as an X-Man, blasting enemies with those incredible optic blasts. It’s cool to see how different versions of superheroes change in the movies, but there’s a new storyline happening in the comics right now that feels like it’s building him up for a major role in Avengers: Doomsday, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out on screen.
Okay, so I just saw the preview for the new Shadows of Tomorrow: Cyclops #1 comic, and it looks like Marvel is seriously upping Cyclops’s game! I mean, Cyclops has always been a powerhouse when it comes to energy blasts, but this new level of power… it’s unlike anything we’ve seen him do before. It’s pretty wild!

Cyclops starts by warning his opponent: they can either try to defeat him with stronger weapons, or risk leaving the fight without their teeth.
The opponent reveals they know about Cyclops’s powerful eye beams, explaining that they hit with the force of a hydrogen bomb.

Cyclops is now incredibly powerful, on par with a hydrogen bomb, making him one of Marvel’s strongest heroes. While he’s always had potential, his powers haven’t always been reliable in comics and movies. Still, being able to unleash a blast with the force of a nuclear explosion is a serious ability.
Cyclops’ recent power increase makes him one of the most powerful characters, putting him in the same league as Jean Grey, Captain Marvel, and Scarlet Witch. Few can match his abilities now.
Besides Shadow of Tomorrow: Cyclops, which is being released this month, fans can look forward to more new X-Men stories featuring the mutant known for his optic blasts.
The comic book hero will return in Season 2 of X-Men ’97, and his powerful energy blasts are already making an impact. Viewers were surprised to see Cyclops using his powers for flight in the first season, showcasing a notable increase in his abilities.

James Marsden will reprise his role as Cyclops, joining other X-Men actors in the upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday, which releases on December 18th. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, this new Avengers movie brings together multiple superhero teams from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Notably, it’s the first time characters from the X-Men films previously produced by Fox will be officially part of the MCU’s ongoing story.
How Strong Will Cyclops Be In Avengers: Doomsday?

With Marvel increasing Cyclops’ power level in the comics, fans are wondering if we’ll see a similar boost in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. Cyclops’ abilities have changed a lot over time, and bringing him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe offers a great chance to reimagine his powers and make them even more impressive.
Based on what we’ve seen of Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday, it looks like that’s precisely the approach Marvel Studios is taking.
The special preview for Avengers 5 featuring the X-Men showed James Marsden’s character collapsing to his knees, taking off his glasses, and unleashing a massive energy blast from his eyes. The scene was incredibly destructive, with a huge wave of red energy radiating outwards from him.

It’s unknown which version of the X-Men will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, or what role they’ll play. However, rumors suggest this Cyclops might be more powerful than fans recall. According to MyTimetoShine, these X-Men are experienced, battle-hardened heroes who have survived numerous conflicts and fought many other heroes to stay alive.
If this proves correct, this version of Cyclops would have grown more powerful with each victory, eventually becoming as strong as the most powerful Avengers.
