Marvel is actually doing the one thing nobody expected them to, reports say

As a lifelong Marvel fanatic, I can hardly contain my excitement about the potential Avengers vs. X-Men showdown that’s been rumored! Growing up with the X-Men and Avengers comics, I always dreamt of witnessing these epic battles unfold on the big screen. The Multiverse Saga has already surpassed expectations, but this would take it to a whole new level!

It’s an exhilarating era for Marvel enthusiasts, I must say! The Multiverse Saga has had its share of highs and lows, but it’s also opened up a treasure trove of chances to revisit our beloved heroes who graced our screens in our younger days. For instance, we’ve been treated to Patrick Stewart’s reprisal of Professor Charles Xavier in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” and more recently, both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have returned as Spider-Man in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” It’s like a never-ending stream of delightful surprises!

In their adventures, Deadpool and Wolverine (particularly Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Logan) elevated things significantly. The movie also incorporated numerous winks and homages to the X-Men film series from 20th Century Fox, which, considering the Marvel Cinematic Universe context, seems surprisingly fitting given that such a scenario would have seemed unlikely just a few years back.

As a longtime fan of this series, I must say that the latest twist has left me utterly astounded! It feels like every time I think I’ve seen it all, another jaw-dropping event unfolds. Over the years, I’ve grown accustomed to the unexpected turns and twists, but this one takes the cake. The anticipation is killing me, I can hardly wait to see what happens next!

Marvel reportedly planning an Avengers vs. X-Men showdown

According to Marvel insider Alex Perez, there’s a strong chance that Marvel intends for The Avengers and X-Men to engage in a climactic confrontation as part of the Multiverse Saga. During a Q&A session with fans on The Cosmic Circus in August, Perez hinted at the potential battle between Wolverine and The Hulk, suggesting that the studio is eager for these iconic comic book adversaries to share their much-anticipated fight scene.

It’s clearly significant since fans have been eagerly anticipating these events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for quite some time; the prospect of them taking place, especially if it’s in the same film, is incredibly thrilling.

Previously, discussions around these specific concepts have surfaced before. In fact, whispers about them have been circulating within the excitement surrounding Deadpool and Wolverine. Notably, Perez hinted at the potential for an Avengers vs X-Men conflict in a recent post, suggesting that every piece they create serves a deliberate purpose, as communicated to a fan on social media platform X (previously known as Twitter).

It’s intriguing that this latest report suggests Marvel plans for showdowns to occur prior to the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, considering that both “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” are expected to mark the end. The question then arises as to whether it would be possible for such a showdown to take place in either of these movies given that Wolverine is currently the only permanent character within the franchise.

The beauty of the Multiverse Saga is that an alternate version of the mutants could make their presence felt in the franchise, but that would likely go down like the Scarlet Witch’s battle with the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (meaning that the team would play a minor role and likely be defeated by The Avengers since they aren’t main characters). Would that be disappointing? Yes, but it would still allow one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments to come to life on the big screen. And that alone would probably make it worth it.

*** This next paragraph features SPOILERS from Deadpool and Wolverine ***

It’s possible, given their past encounters, that Wolverine and Hulk might clash again in a future movie. In Deadpool’s adventure, he came across one of the Logans engaged in combat with the Hulk. Although we didn’t witness their fight directly, as the Hulk sent Deadpool out of the timeline, it would be exciting if this was just a hint towards a real on-screen battle between these two powerhouses someday.

In their extensive comic book history, The Incredible Hulk and Wolverine have often clashed, making it no surprise that fans eagerly anticipate witnessing this showdown in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). And if this fight were to occur amidst a larger battle pitting the Avengers against the X-Men? That would undoubtedly create an unforgettable spectacle.

The Multiverse Tale might offer some of the most significant events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and with a possible clash between the Avengers and X-Men on the table, this potential has become even more substantial. Whether or not Marvel decides to go through with it remains uncertain, but let’s hope they do – fans are eagerly anticipating such an encounter!
