Thunderbolts ending spoilers follow.
It’s been revealed, barely a week after its premiere, that Marvel Studios has inadvertently unveiled the major finale twist for their newest movie titled “Thunderbolts“.
The movie has been named “Thunderbolts,” and there was a lot of speculation regarding what the asterisk might signify prior to its release.
The answer was unveiled towards the end of the movie when the title switched to “*New Avengers*” (now with an asterisk at the beginning), symbolizing how Valentina Allegra de Fontaine had given the team a new name during her press conference.
As a die-hard fan, I won’t have to endure the movie or scour the internet for spoilers anymore, since Marvel has decided to unveil the latest title themselves in their promotional campaign.

Billboards have been updated with a fresh title in areas such as West Hollywood’s Sunset Plaza Drive, and Marvel’s Singapore branch has announced the title change across their social media platforms and encouraged fans to catch it at the cinema.
The title shift takes place right at the start of the credits, followed by a humorous scene embedded within the credit roll.

Instead, let me rephrase that for you: The post-credit scene is particularly substantial and offers a hint about the future direction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (it’s also substantial because it’s the longest among all the post-credit scenes in the MCU films).
It’s worth noting that the particular scene was captured just a month back, suggesting strongly that it was actually directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who are known for directing Avengers: Doomsday, rather than Jake Schrier.
Thunderbolts* is out now in cinemas. Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on May 1, 2026.
