Marvel fans believe they’ve just spotted a telling clue that Brie Larson is returning to the MCU.
Brie Larson first portrayed Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the 2019 film Captain Marvel. There’s been speculation she’ll return to the role in the next Avengers movie, currently titled Doomsday.
Brie Larson shared a photo on Instagram showing she had just voted in the special election held on November 4th in California and across the US.

Larson is wearing a white hoodie, barely concealing her blonde wig.
“Ignore the wig,” she wrote, adding a cheeky shushing face emoji.

Larson currently has a short, pixie-style haircut, though she’s naturally blonde. Some fans believe she might be filming extra scenes for the movie Doomsday because of a photo showing long hair escaping her hoodie, and rumors suggest additional photography is happening.
One Reddit user commented that the promo campaign’s instruction to ‘Ignore the wig’ is funny because they doubt most people would have even noticed it in the first place.
Someone else pointed out that she definitely wanted people to pay attention. They thought the playful caption was good because it created some buzz for the new movies.
Scheduled for release in December 2026, Avengers: Doomsday continues the story fourteen months after the events of Thunderbolts, which came out earlier this year.

Details about the story are scarce, but it appears the Avengers are gathering a large team to battle Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the familiar Avengers, the team now includes heroes from Wakanda, the Fantastic Four, a new group of Avengers, and even some of the original X-Men, like Professor X played by Patrick Stewart and Cyclops played by James Marsden.
Joe and Anthony Russo directed the film, and Michael Waldron, known for creating the Marvel series Loki, wrote the screenplay with Stephen McFeely, who co-wrote several successful Marvel Cinematic Universe films like Avengers: Endgame.
The new movie, Avengers: Doomsday, comes out in theaters on December 18, 2026. You can currently watch all four previous Avengers films on Disney+.
