Marvel Delays 2 Upcoming Movies, Dates 2 MCU Films

Two MCU movies have been given release dates, while two others have been delayed.

In 2026, Marvel Studios will release Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in U.S. theaters. Later this year, audiences can look forward to Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, with Avengers: Secret Wars slated for 2027.

What are the new MCU movie release dates?

Disney has shifted its release dates for two Marvel movies. A film originally planned for February 18, 2028, will now come out on July 28, 2028. Another Marvel movie, previously scheduled for November 10, 2028, has been cancelled.

Fortunately, Disney has scheduled two more Marvel films for release on May 4th and July 13th, 2029.

We don’t yet know the titles of these upcoming projects, so it’s hard to say what they’ll be about. Fans are eager for movies like Black Panther 3, Blade, and the X-Men film directed by Jake Schreier, but it’s still uncertain if – or when – these movies will actually be released.

Several potential future Marvel projects are being discussed, including follow-ups to The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Armor Wars and a Young Avengers series are also possibilities, but these are currently just rumors.

We probably won’t find out the titles of these new movies for a while. “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” are predicted to significantly change the Marvel Cinematic Universe in unexpected ways. Both films will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, known as the Russo Brothers. “Doomsday” is scheduled to come out on December 18, 2026, and “Secret Wars” will follow on December 17, 2027.
