With Line of Duty’s Martin Compston leading the charge, joined by the likes of Schitt’s Creek’s Emily Hampshire, Game of Thrones’ Iain Glen and Owen Teale, this supernatural thriller has all the makings of a gripping survival tale.
Amazon Prime Video has given us a sneak peek at the second season of “The Rig,” starring Martin Compston from “Line of Duty.
2023 saw the launch of a supernatural chiller, set on an isolated Scottish oil rig. The story revolves around the crew who were unable to leave due to a peculiar fog which barred their return journey home.
The second season of “The Rig” will unravel over six captivating episodes, as the remaining crew members grapple with a covert offshore installation known as Stac. This enigmatic facility is concealed within the harsh and perilous terrain of the Arctic Circle.
Before the new season airs in January 2025, the streaming platform has given us a sneak peek into the icy Arctic landscape that will be its backdrop.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the images reveal the comeback of Emily Hampshire, star from Schitt’s Creek, along with Iain Glen and Owen Teale from Game of Thrones. We, the crew, are ready to take on our newest daunting endeavor.
Stranded in the Arctic, they find themselves grappling with the emotional and bodily repercussions of the catastrophic tsunami that leveled Bravo. The team will endeavor to navigate “the whirlwind of suspicions, corporate strife, and fresh perils” rising from the enigmatic abyss of the ocean.
In the second season, you’ll recognize Rochenda Sandall, Mark Addy, Molly Veers, Abraham Popoola, Nikhil Parmar, and Stuart McQuarrie returning to their characters once again.
Additionally, Ross Anderson, Phil McKee, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Johannes Roaldsen Fürst, and Alice Krige have now joined the team for their chilly expedition.
