Martin Compston’s “chaotic” British revenge thriller with Slow Horses star gets first look

Get a first glimpse of The Revenge Club, a new six-part comedy series with a dark edge, before it arrives on Paramount+ next month. Based on J.D. Pennington’s novel The Othello Club, the show will start streaming on December 12th.

It has been adapted for TV by Gabbie Asher, known for her work on The Girlfriend.

The series centers around six people, all struggling with heartbreak and betrayal after their divorces, who find each other in a support group.

What to Read Next

Despite having very little else in common, these two connect through their shared heartbreak and hatch a poorly thought-out plan: to get revenge on those who hurt them.

What begins as a way to release their frustrations quickly becomes much more destructive. Their attempts at getting even start with harmless pranks – like faking exam papers, running tarot scams, and unleashing rats – but soon escalate into dangerous and even fatal incidents.

As this group’s schemes become more daring, it becomes increasingly difficult to tell the difference between seeking justice and losing control – and someone could go too far. The Revenge Club is a thrilling and darkly humorous story about revenge that makes you wonder: what if getting revenge was more satisfying than finding love?

Martin Compston, known from Line of Duty, and Aimee-Ffion Edwards, who stars in Slow Horses, play the main characters, Calum and Emily.

Meera Syal, known from The Kumars at No. 42, plays Rita, while Sharon Rooney, who starred in Barbie, is Rachel. Douglas Henshall, famous for Shetland, portrays Steve, Chaneil Kular from Sex Education plays Tej, and Amit Shah, of Mr Bates vs. The Post Office, stars as Malcolm.

The cast also includes Owen Teale, Aoife Kennan, Rob Malone, Niamh Walsh, Wil Coban, Christina Bennington, and Eoin Duffy.

I’m so excited for The Revenge Club to come out! I heard from Sebastian Cardwell at Paramount that it’s going to be a really clever, cool, and darkly humorous thriller. He also said the cast and everyone working on it are fantastic, which makes me even more hyped!

We’re excited to support this captivating project, and we believe it will be a fantastic and unique addition to our growing collection of British programming.

The Revenge Club premieres on Paramount+ on 12 December.

The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can purchase Ariana & Witches at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
