Martin Clunes’ remake of a classic ’70s BBC series has just been added to streaming

The modern take on the popular 1970s BBC show, “The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin,” starring Martin Clunes, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom.

Debuted in 2009, this sitcom, later known as “Reggie Perrin”, chronicles the story of the main character, played by Clunes, who is the titular executive. This middle-aged man is growing tired of his current life circumstances.

You can now stream seasons one and two of the series featuring Fay Ripley and Lucy Liemann on Amazon Prime Video.

Reggie Perrin has been working at Groomtech for ten years and is growing increasingly dissatisfied and isolated. As his wife Nicola is preoccupied, Reggie develops strong feelings for a new coworker named Jasmine.

From 1976 until 1979, the initial series aired for a span of three seasons, with Leonard Rossiter playing the principal character, sharing screen time with the esteemed Sue Nicholls from “Coronation Street.

In the free-to-stream British series accessible on BBC iPlayer, Rossiter portrays an uninspired, middle-aged corporate figure who fabricates his demise in order to embark on a fresh chapter of life.

Currently, Clunes has given a thrilling sneak peek about the potential comeback of his cherished ITV series, Doc Martin.

After running for a remarkable 18 years, the series concluded in 2022 with a festive finale – a Christmas special. Yet, in early January, it was disclosed that there had been talks about producing a Doc Martin film. Clunes hinted at the possibility by saying, “It might just come to fruition.

As a gamer, I’ve heard whispers from one of those movie folks about creating a film adaptation of “Doc Martin”. Right now, two years after wrapping up the 10th and final series, my response is a bit ambiguous – you never know, it might just come to pass! (This information comes from The Sun).

We’ve successfully produced a few full-length Christmas specials, lasting 90 and 120 minutes each. This demonstrates our ability to handle longer productions like the extended version of Doc Martin. Therefore, creating an extended version of Doc Martin is indeed feasible.
