Martin Clunes’ gritty new ITV drama confirms January release with first trailer
As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for gripping dramas and a soft spot for Martin Clunes, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming ITV series, “Out There”. The synopsis of this six-part thriller promises a tense narrative that intertwines rural life, family dynamics, and the grim reality of county lines drug dealing – a chilling blend that I can’t seem to resist.
Martin Clunes’ latest ITV drama Out There now has a confirmed release date.
In the gripping six-episode production, the beloved actor Clunes from Doc Martin takes on the role of Nathan, a Welsh farmer. He encounters ominous influences creeping into his peaceful countryside living.
As a humble farmer, I find myself in the heart of a gripping tale that paints a chilling picture. The story unfolds as ruthless drug dealers from the city’s underbelly, these county lines gangsters, subtly invade the land I hold dear. They use our tranquil countryside as their battleground, shifting drugs and cash between their urban strongholds and rural areas. This infiltration puts my livelihood, home, and family at risk, with devastating consequences looming on the horizon.
Clunes is set to act alongside Louis Ashbourne Serkis, who portrays the character of Johnny, Clunes’ 15-year-old son in the story.
The ensemble is rounded out by Mark Lewis Jones from “Gangs of London”, Natalia Kostrzewa from “Perfect Skin”, Carly-Sophia Davies from “The Eternal Daughter”, and Gerran Howell, who starred in “Young Dracula”.
The upcoming series titled “Out There” is set to debut across various platforms like ITV1, ITVX, STV, and the STV Player in January. However, a specific release date for the series has yet to be disclosed.
The screenplay for “Out There” was penned by Ed Whitmore, known for his work on “Manhunt” and “Silent Witness,” as well as Marc Evans, the mastermind behind “Steeltown Murders” and “The Pembrokeshire Murders.” Notably, Evans also directs this production.
Apart from that, Clunes is planning to collaborate with the popular comedian James Buckley from “The Inbetweeners” in the upcoming comedy-drama titled “Mother’s Pride.
As per the summary, the movie narrates the tale of a struggling pub, a fragmented town, and a mourning family whose existence is transformed through the process of crafting authentic beer and competing in the prestigious Great British Beer Competition.
Nick Moorcroft, who directed the movie “Fisherman’s Friends: One and All“, collaborated on the screenplay with Meg Leonard from the band “Fisherman’s Friends“. A specific release date hasn’t been set yet, but it has been confirmed that the film will hit theaters through Entertainment Film Distributors.
Out There will air in January on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player.
