Married At First Sight’s Sara Mesa reveals she was ‘manipulated and gaslit’ in relationship – as she announces she’s single

As a devoted fan, I’ve followed Sara Mesa’s journey from the very beginning, and it’s heart-wrenching to see her go through such pain. Her experiences serve as a stark reminder that not all fairy tales have a happy ending, especially on reality TV.

Married At First Sight bride Sara Mesa has revealed that she has suffered a bad breakup. 

This week, the influencer – formerly a reality TV personality – who is now 30 years old, announced on her Instagram post that she’s currently single following her breakup with an undisclosed partner.

‘Had to leave a relationship that was hurting me more than making me happy,’ Sara wrote. 

She went on saying that she had been persistently deceived, made to doubt herself, told untruths, betrayed, shown only small amounts of commitment, her limits overstepped, and received scant regard.

‘The individual I was seeing turned out not to be as I had imagined. I’ve yet to discuss this as the situation is still raw and hurts.’

Sara stated: ‘If someone reveals their true nature to you, take them at their word. Steer clear of someone who makes you doubt your worth.’ (She penned this down)

‘Maybe I’ll share more about my experience once I’m healed and ready.’

It comes after her ex, Tim Calwell, who she ‘married’ on MAFS, denied ever cheating on Sara. 

In the 2024 series, they faced numerous ups and downs within their relationship, but eventually, Tim found himself moving forward with his partner, Barbara.

Tim and Barbara crossed paths for the first time in February, mere weeks following the public announcement of his troubled marriage to a Sydney-based dietician named Sara.

Shortly thereafter, the duo was seen purchasing takeout meals and beverages, followed by a visit to a garden center to pick up some new plants.

In conversation with Daily Mail Australia, I, a passionate entrepreneur at heart, emphatically refute allegations of infidelity during my marriage. To set the record straight, I initiated my connection with Barbara only after parting ways with Sara, making it clear that my loyalty and commitment lie solely with my TV bride.

He clarified that during the experiment, he was not involved with anyone else. Instead, he was focused on improving their relationship by being completely committed and dedicated to it.

It seems strange that she’s mentioning that, perhaps she’s attempting to divert attention away from her situation by creating a distraction on my side.

Tim described his TV marriage with Sara as ‘toxic’ and very up and down.

‘It was definitely very up and down. Almost toxic at this point, I don’t know,’ he said.

We put forth our utmost effort to make the relationship work, but it was always quite intense and honestly, not enjoyable for me.

Sara recently revealed the shocking amount she was paid for appearing on the show. 

After a follower asked, ‘How much did you get paid for MAFS?’ Sara revealed the brutal truth.

‘$150 per day and then $180 a week for groceries. Chump change,’ she wrote.

In my expert opinion, although Sara’s earnings during the show’s production were surprisingly modest, it appears that she’s seen significant financial success since then, thanks to her participation in the intriguing dating experiment.

According to specialists at NZ Casino who analyze entertainment data, the contestant from Colombia, known for her appearances on reality shows, has earned a minimum of approximately $55,681 through her social media platforms.

After appearing on MAFS, she’s managed to land numerous brand partnerships and has even earned income from nightclub performances.

She has also nabbed a six-figure deal alongside her fellow MAFS bestie, Lauren Dunn.
