Joel Moses from Married At First Sight shared the touching story behind his teddy bear after it was cruelly mocked during Tuesday’s dramatic dinner party. He explained the special meaning the childhood toy holds for him.

The unusual item has been featured throughout the entire experiment, but viewers were surprised when it became involved in a disagreement between him and his partner, Juliette Chae.

The situation quickly turned awkward, with the other cast members clearly surprised and upset when a teddy bear became part of the couple’s argument.

In a recent interview with Daily Mail, Joel explained that the toy is much more significant than it appeared in the movie.

Joel shared that he’s had his teddy bear, Teddy, for 31 years. He described Teddy as being like a child to him and happily admitted how close they are. He affectionately called Teddy a blue, fluffy, and cute companion.

The drummer, who lives in Sydney, shared the story behind a cherished possession: it reminds him of a family vacation from when he was a child. Unfortunately, he lost his first teddy bear during that trip, making this one especially meaningful.

We were driving from Sydney to the Gold Coast for a family vacation. When we arrived in Surfers Paradise, we discovered my favorite teddy bear was missing – it was actually his brother! I was only one year old then, and naturally, I was very upset and cried a lot, as you can imagine.

Joel remembers his grandmother comforting him right away, and it became a cherished memory for the whole family.

‘My grandmother, who I was so close to, like the angel she was, scooted off instantly to the nearest shopping centre to buy me a new teddy,’ he continued.

Honestly, this bear and I are inseparable! It’s not just a stuffed animal; it’s truly the most meaningful possession I have. I’ve had it for so long, it feels like we’re joined at the hip – it’s just that special.

Okay, so hearing the backstory just completely changes how I saw that dinner party scene! I mean, I initially thought it was just funny how they were fighting over that silly toy, but now? It’s actually really heartbreaking. It wasn’t just a random object; it clearly meant something to them, and seeing it become part of their awful fight… it just makes me feel so much for them now. It adds a whole new layer to everything!

Their relationship has been struggling for a while, ever since some intense and difficult challenges during the experiment forced them to get close very quickly.

Juliette had previously confessed she found it difficult to even make eye contact with Joel after seeing a strange video of him online. The video showed him playing drums with a sex toy, which deeply disturbed her. She described his eyes as looking ‘devilish’ and refused to work with him on certain tasks as a result.

When the actors came together for the dinner party, the couple’s relationship was on the verge of collapse.

One of the most surprising parts of the night happened when a simple teddy bear sparked a huge fight, and the couple’s personal problems became public for everyone to see.

Some people wondered why Joel was still so fond of a toy from his childhood, and others felt awkward about how the whole thing played out.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! When I was little, they actually wrote a whole book about my obsession with Teddy! It was a real, published book, and they even got a children’s author to help! It was called ‘Furring Up With Love,’ and it’s seriously the sweetest thing ever. I still have a copy, of course!
