Married At First Sight’s Joel Moses labels Juliette Chae ‘fake and insincere’ in explosive interview

Joel Moses, a groom on the reality show Married At First Sight, has shared that he struggled significantly while filming and almost reached his limit.

Joel, 31, told the Daily Mail that the continuing issues with his bride, Juliette Chae, have been emotionally exhausting for him.

He explained that being surrounded by negativity for a long time can overwhelm you and make it harder to stay positive.

Viewers were surprised when the groom wrote ‘leave’ during a difficult conversation with the relationship experts.

But Joel insists the decision was about protecting his dignity.

He explained it was a tough choice, as he loved being part of the show, being on camera, and the excitement that came with it all.

‘But I wasn’t enjoying being with Juliette,’ he continued.

Honestly, if it had been up to me, I would have continued the show on my own. But I valued my self-respect more, and I was prepared to leave if that’s what it took. It was a tough decision, but I just couldn’t compromise on that.

Joel had to continue with the experiment because Juliette decided to stay, which he found completely unexpected.

‘I was pretty shocked that she wrote stay because it seemed like she hated me,’ he said.

Joel refused to accept an apology Juliette offered during the tense group confrontation.

‘Because it was fake and insincere, like every word that comes out of her mouth,’ he said.

‘She didn’t even apologise to me first. She apologised to the group.’

Honestly, when she said she didn’t hate me that much, it didn’t feel like an apology at all. It just felt like she was admitting she still held some negativity towards me, and that’s… honestly, it’s worse. It’s like acknowledging a little bit of hate is okay? It really stung.

But the next day, Joel decided to try and work things out, reaching out to the other person privately.

‘I put out an olive branch,’ he revealed.

‘I thought, look, we’re here for another week, let’s just try to lighten the mood a bit.’

Joel said Juliette came to his apartment afterward and sincerely apologized, according to his account.

‘She was crying and she seemed upset,’ he said.

‘I was still sceptical but she apologised without making excuses, so I took her at her word.’

‘I told her it was a one strike policy. If she pushed my buttons again, that was it.’

The pair even shared a bed the night before the couples retreat.

‘We slept in the same bed – we didn’t have sex – but things had improved,’ he said.

Joel says things stayed peaceful between them during the retreat, but that was only because Juliette focused on other things.

‘She didn’t disrespect me again,’ he said.

‘She was on her best behaviour towards me. But she just picked a new target.’

‘She swapped Joel for Bec. That’s what happened.’

The intruder groom also made explosive claims about alliances forming among the brides.

According to Joel, Juliette quickly aligned herself with fellow bride Gia during filming.

‘Gia and Juliette formed an alliance from day one at the wedding,’ he alleged.

‘Gia ran up to her and said, “We’re your besties, we’ve got your back.”

‘But in truth Gia is looking for a useful idiot – and that’s Juliette.’

‘I’ve said Gia is the puppet master behind the shadows.’

Joel also accused Juliette of spreading rumours about other couples.

He recalled her often telling him that Bec and Danny were working together in the kitchen to get more screen time, as if they were plotting to be on camera more.

‘It’s absolute bollocks. She’s just creating stories.’

‘Every word she comes out with is a manipulative lie.’

Even though things were tense, Joel felt relieved when the experts finally addressed Juliette’s behavior during the Commitment Ceremony.

‘I would say the supervillain was slain by the experts,’ he said.

‘Everyone was pretty satisfied to see it.’

But Joel admits he was in a dark place at the time.

I was really struggling emotionally at the time and felt overwhelmed by negative feelings.
