Married At First Sight UK’s Erica Roberts reveals real reason she split with Jordan Gayle and admits there were ‘warning signs from day one’

As a devoted fan, I must say, Erica Roberts’ revelation about her split with Jordan Gayle has been nothing short of eye-opening. It’s heartbreaking to see someone who seemed so enamored on television struggle behind the scenes. Her words paint a stark contrast between the lovey-dovey couple we saw on our screens and the imbalanced relationship they had off-camera.

Erica Roberts, a star on the British version of “Married At First Sight,” has disclosed the genuine cause for her separation from Jordan Gayle, which occurred earlier in the year.

During their split, Erica, aged 26, shared the news on Instagram, stressing that there were no hard feelings or animosity between them.

Yet, it turns out that their separation was more contentious than initially portrayed. She recently disclosed some of his erratic actions before they parted ways.

To The Sun, Erica shared her feelings: “It had been a prolonged process. I found myself gradually slipping away as I focused on taking care of him.

I found myself assuming a significant role in our relationship. He required a lot from me, which led to a great deal of pressure being placed upon me as his primary source of support. Frankly, such responsibilities are more than any single individual can handle.

I’d prefer a more equal relationship between us, as a partner and lover, rather than taking on the roles of counselor and mother. The responsibilities have become overwhelming for me.

Erica stated that the balance in their relationship became overwhelming for her.

Last year, Erica and Jordan made an appearance on Channel 4’s program, and it was their wedding day when they first encountered each other.

As a new addition to the show, my partner and I were often referred to as the affectionate duo, since we had entered later and quickly became audience favorites for our heartwarming connection.

During their heated reunion program, it was Laura Vaughan, a fellow cast member, who asserted that Erica and Jordan were constantly at odds while residing together.

However, it was during Jordan’s 27th birthday that the turning point arrived, as Erica took him by surprise with a vacation to Scotland, her home country.

Despite Erica arranging a unique trip for him, he was enraged because she couldn’t join them for a ten-pin bowling event in Sheffield with his mother on the same day.

Erica revealed that he told her that her efforts had been the ‘bare minimum’, despite the fact she claimed he had never even taken her out for dinner. 

The celebrity confessed that she was overwhelmed, stating she couldn’t continue with the situation anymore, and described the actions of her ex as irrational and excessive.

Erica went on to reveal that there were a lot of ‘red flags’ early on in their relationship.

During the final night of their honeymoon in Antigua, it’s said that there was an argument between the couple, which led Erica to question things, but this particular incident was not depicted on television.

On their wedding day, she asserted that he often interrupted her or redirected the conversation to himself when she tried discussing herself.

She also confessed that it continuously happened on their honeymoon too. 

Erica confessed that the reality of their relationship behind the scenes was quite different from what appeared on the screen, suggesting there were many unseen happenings involved.

Additionally, she mentioned that bringing up her concerns about his indifference toward her feelings often resulted in him exhibiting an emotional outburst or intense response.

At that point, the star expressed that she was certain his ability to communicate effectively had vanished.

She shared that she needed to console him, as he was distressed about the way he had hurt her feelings.

Reflecting on their past, Erica acknowledged that red flags had been present since the beginning of their relationship, which appeared consistently as a recurring pattern.

Following the breakup, Erica asserted that many of her fellow actors congratulated her for bringing their relationship to an end.

She asserted that it was similar to “Nicely done, you managed to get rid of him,” and indicated that the separation was “overdue for a while.

As a die-hard admirer, I’d say, “I’ve always been captivated by her, and it’s no secret that the length of her relationship with Jordan left many wondering. Yet, what truly intrigued me was the fact that amidst all the ups and downs, there were moments of pure magic that kept her tethered to him.

Erica confided to The Sun that she genuinely felt fond of him and was keen on giving their relationship a chance, since they enjoyed spending time together immensely.

However, after leaving the program, she confessed that she experienced pressure to maintain their relationship for the sake of the audience.

Instead, Erica stated that she would likely require counseling or psychological support if she had continued the relationship.

After originally expressing that he was deeply saddened by the separation, it appears that Jordan has since found happiness with Melissa Golik, a dedicated emergency nurse from Australia.
