Married At First Sight star Dave Hand shares heartbreaking news: ‘It’s taken a toll’
Star from “Married At First Sight,” Dave Hand, shared some sad news about his father, Howard, regarding his current health situation.
During my stay on television with bride-to-be Jamie Marinos, I, a devoted admirer, opened up about my father’s cancer journey, sharing our heartfelt story with the viewing audience.
Even though Dave earlier stated that his father had improved, he confessed to The Mirror this week that Howard’s cancer had come back.
Dave informed the media outlet that the tumors his father had, which had earlier reduced in size, have returned rather swiftly.
Dave mentioned that Howard is actively participating in a medical study as a means to conquer the illness at present.

‘He’s on a trial now. Only 200 people in the world are doing it,’ Dave explained.
My father’s reaction to taking on the task was, “I’ll do my best to assist someone, so let me try this challenge and contribute positively to the future.
‘He’s been fighting it for five years and now it’s taken a toll on him.
‘He’s a bit frail and now he’s got to go into battle again.’
MAFS fans were introduced to Howard and Dave’s stepmother Karen during a homestay visit with Jamie.
Dave felt deeply moved as he met his father again, it being years since their paths last crossed, following the television wedding that took place prior.
It turned out that Howard had to skip the wedding because he was going through chemotherapy treatment.
The groom was then shown on his wedding day sitting alone and FaceTiming with Karen and Howard.

‘I wish my dad was well enough to come to the wedding,’ he said.
‘He’d just started chemo for the fourth time.’
Besides confessing, it was also acknowledged by Dave that his father’s struggle with cancer over the past four years had left a deep personal impact on him.
‘Seeing dad over the last four years, it sort of does take a lot out of me,’ he said.
‘You take it all on board.
It seems that today’s encounter might be unique. Yesterday, I received some news concerning him, but we haven’t talked since then. Therefore, I’m looking forward to seeing him.
After a happy introduction, the family sat down at the table to hear Howard deliver his news.
According to Howard’s disclosure, there were initially three tumors. Fortunately, two of those tumors have reduced in size, while the third one has completely disappeared.
‘Another four doses should hopefully clean it up. Something’s finally working.’
Dave said at the time he was over the moon with the good news.

‘I’m so glad that my dad’s turned the corner – he’s been on my mind since day one,’ he said.
Observing his increased energy, I’m incredibly, incredibly joyful. Although I’m feeling quite emotional, the happiness is overwhelming.
Noticing his newfound vigor, I’m exceptionally, exceptionally pleased. Despite my emotional state, I’m overjoyed beyond words.
In an interview with Daily Mail Australia in April, Dave admitted that the emotional scenes on the show were caused by his distress over his father’s fight against cancer. However, he stated that a significant portion of this explanation was removed, leading people to perceive him as a neglectful husband and an unpleasant individual.
In his explanation, he mentioned that during the editing process, a part where he was having trouble dealing with his father’s turn was removed, making it seem as if he performed a flawless backflip against Jamie in the final cut. However, he clarified that he was actually expressing his feelings about his father at the time.
In simpler terms, he shared with the specialists that he broke down while discussing the predicament on the couch, and admitted that he was finding it challenging to carry out the experiment because of his constant worries about his ailing father.
Reflecting on the footage later and observing the editing process was quite challenging for me. Since everyone involved in the experiment was aware of my struggles, both friends and family, it was surprising to see that it didn’t portray my difficulties at all. Instead, it gave an impression that I was a problematic individual.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t hide my bewilderment about the mysteriously chopped footage. Yet, Dave, ever the pro in the spotlight, points to the unyielding challenges of the entertainment industry. He leaves us with a heavy heart, saying he must now soldier on, embracing the enigma that lies ahead.
‘I know how I handled myself in there was the best I could have in that capacity,’ he said.
If I were to return, that location would undoubtedly be terrifying due to my personal struggles at the time. Despite my intentions to support Jamie as his partner, the final cut makes it seem as though I performed an overly dramatic somersault instead.
