Danny Hewitt wasn’t looking for romance with Bec Zacharia on Married At First Sight, but he apparently had no problem with a bit of petty theft.

Sources say a cast member, Danny, age 34, reportedly took artwork from the walls of the hotel where the 2026 series is being filmed after a night of drinking. This is being described as a particularly wild incident that happened behind the scenes.

According to a source, he was allegedly very intoxicated and accidentally took the artwork without realizing it.

After discovering the item was missing, staff had to watch security camera recordings to figure out what happened.

According to sources, he was unaware of what happened and needed to see the video to understand. Another source described the situation as chaotic, saying he was severely disoriented.

It appears Danny’s wild night wasn’t a one-off, either. 

Insiders also claimed that the real estate agent had quite the penchant for painting the town red.

They suggested that Danny had ‘countless’ nights out during filming where he didn’t return home.

Being unexpectedly matched on the show meant Bec Zacharia had to constantly make up reasons to the crew to cover for Danny’s behavior.

Daily Mail has reached out to Danny for comment. 

The couple have since split up, and Bec was visibly upset on Sunday night’s Married At First Sight finale when she saw footage of Danny cheating with another contestant, Stephanie Marshall.

When the couples began watching the show, Bec immediately started to cry, showing she was still upset about her split from Danny.

It absolutely killed me watching her fall apart when Danny told her he didn’t see her as someone he could marry. Honestly, it was heartbreaking to see her react to him saying she wasn’t ‘wife material’.

Bec looked completely heartbroken and couldn’t hold back her tears. Fellow brides Alissa Fay and Rachel Gilmore comforted her.

When Danny announced on TV that he didn’t want to be with his ex-wife anymore, Bec shouted at the television for him to be quiet.

Alissa started yelling insults at Danny, calling him a ‘loser’ and a ‘pig,’ while Bec continued to cry.

During Sunday’s episode, Bec revealed that she had discovered that Steph had been messaging Danny.

She learned the details directly from Stephanie, whom she ran into at the airport the day before the reunion. Stephanie even showed her the text messages she’d exchanged with Danny by letting her look at her phone.

Bec explained that she checked their messages and saw she’d actually started the conversation. She’d told him she’d been to Hamilton Island, and he’d simply asked for pictures. She ended up sending him four: three of the ocean and one of herself in a bikini.

His final voice message said he’d made lifelong friends through the experience, but he didn’t want to dwell on it ending – he needed to stay positive and keep moving forward.

Okay, seriously, when she sent that voice note back – just saying it was nice to hear my voice – I almost melted. And then he just responded with two little heart emojis?! Ugh, it’s just… everything. I replay that voice note constantly, and those hearts? Iconic. I swear, they’re sending signals, right?

Bec was visibly upset, telling the show’s producers she felt manipulated by Danny, who she accused of being insincere and only wanting to reach the final commitment ceremony.

She mentioned the text messages to Steph once more, and Danny firmly insisted he had nothing to conceal.

Still upset after Danny ended their relationship at the final vows, Bec tried to get him to acknowledge he never truly felt a connection with her, but he didn’t respond.

Bec finally unleashed all of her pent-up frustration, repeatedly and forcefully arguing with both Steph and Danny.

‘You are a dog, and so is she,’ Bec raged.

Following her angry outburst, Bec rushed away, crying, and said she needed some time to herself. She eventually confessed that she still had feelings for Danny.
