Gia Fleur, a contestant on Married At First Sight, has publicly apologized to Alissa Fay and Stella Mickunaite for harsh comments she made about them this week.
Oh my god, I was shocked watching the dinner party! That woman, she’s usually so lovely, but she and Brook Crompton just completely lost it! They were tearing into each other with the nastiest things, and honestly, it was just awful to watch. I couldn’t believe the things they were saying – it was totally disgusting, and I’m still reeling from it!
Although the model, who is 27 years old, has apologized for what she did, she recently told a radio show that the show’s producers were the ones who influenced her behavior.
The disability support worker has also expressed her own regrets, posting a detailed message on Instagram this past Saturday.
Okay, so everyone’s been asking about why I stepped away from ‘Stan: After The Dinner Party,’ and honestly, it was a tough decision. I actually flew all the way to Sydney to start filming, but ultimately, I realized it just wasn’t the right fit for me at this time. I wanted to be upfront about that, and I’m happy to share more details when I’m ready.
I’m writing to talk about my appearance on The Stan show and set the record straight. I was invited to be on the show last week and traveled to Sydney planning to be there.
‘Unfortunately, I was admitted to hospital due to being unwell and wasn’t able to go ahead. I didn’t “chicken out”, I simply prioritised my health at the time,’ she added.
Jules Lund, Brittany Hockley, and Laura Byrne revealed this week that Gia was originally scheduled to discuss the dinner party, but cancelled her appearance right before it was supposed to happen.
Although she initially claimed a medical issue caused her to miss the show, Gia has now stated she won’t ever be on the behind-the-scenes program.
‘I’ve since been invited back to comment on others’ behaviour,’ she said.
I’ve been thinking about how I acted at the dinner party, and I realize it wouldn’t be right for me to judge others.
I don’t think it would be genuine of me to criticize others to avoid taking responsibility for my own actions. Plus, the events in question happened over six months ago.
I understand what happened, I responded as I did, and I accept my share of the blame.
She continued to write that ‘revisiting who said what doesn’t feel healthy for me anymore’.
I could explain why I didn’t get along with Alissa, or detail what happened between us, but responding in kind wouldn’t make things better, she said.
I don’t want to get caught up in blaming others to avoid taking responsibility for my own actions. I’m choosing to concentrate on improving myself instead.
I’m focusing on personal growth, becoming a better version of myself, and prioritizing my loved ones. I’m putting my energy into being a good mom and a supportive partner, and doing that work privately.
Gia concluded her long message by directly apologizing to Alissa, 33, and Stella, 32, who were most affected by the unkind behavior at the dinner party.
She told Alissa and Stella she was truly sorry for how she’d acted both during the experiment and on that particular night.
I sincerely apologize for my terrible behavior and the offensive language I used. I understand I was completely out of line and deeply regret how I made you both feel.
I sincerely apologize for any pain I’ve caused, and I truly hope you both find peace in the future.
This follows Gia’s claim that the show’s producers were responsible for the heated argument on Wednesday night, alleging she and Brook were manipulated into portraying a negative and aggressive dynamic.
Gia was on the radio show ‘Fifi, Fev and Nick’ on Thursday and tried to explain her actions by saying she was led by the show’s producers.
Gia started by saying that she and Brook had a lot going on behind the scenes during production, which might explain why they weren’t at their best.
Leading up to that dinner party, we went through a difficult time. It felt like we were just following instructions, like puppets in a show.
We definitely acted out of line at the dinner party, and we’re embarrassed about how we behaved. However, we’ve learned from the experience and wouldn’t repeat it now.
As a lifestyle commentator, I’ve been following the recent drama, and it’s been fascinating to see the public reaction. After Gia spoke about feeling her actions on the show were influenced by producers, a lot of viewers immediately went to social media to strongly disagree, accusing her of not taking responsibility for her own behavior. It’s definitely sparked a big conversation about accountability and reality TV!
“Seriously, don’t even,” wrote Jamie Marinos, a returning participant from Married At First Sight. Domenica Calarco, also from the show, simply added, “No way.”
Someone else commented that the producers weren’t entirely to blame for what happened; they just brought attention to an existing issue.
While the show’s creators decide what gets filmed, you’re the one accountable for the things you say!
Brook and Gia upset many viewers of Married at First Sight with their dramatic behavior at Wednesday’s dinner party.
The pair viciously launched a verbal attack on fellow brides Stella and Alissa.
The argument became very harsh, and viewers accused Gia and Brook of bullying, demanding they be removed from the reality show.
