Married At First Sight 2025 bombshell: Producers considering a major shake-up with relationship experts ahead of new season
As a fervent fan of Love Island Australia, I must say that Mel Schilling’s courage and resilience during her battle with colon cancer truly inspire me. Her return to the show is not just a testament to her strength but also a beacon of hope for all those who are going through similar challenges.
The organizers of Married At First Sight are contemplating a change in the team of experts for the forthcoming 2025 season, which is being produced in Sydney right now.
Exclusively through Daily Mail Australia, it has been disclosed that EndemolShine, a leading production house responsible for MAFS, engaged in multiple strategic discussions with Channel Nine executives about possible adjustments to the show’s structure.
The main point of these conversations revolved around the possibility of bringing in a fresh relationship consultant to potentially revitalize the well-known TV show.
According to a source within the production team, the creators are constantly coming up with new ideas to ensure that the show remains engaging and full of surprises for the viewers.
As an eager participant, I was genuinely intrigued by the prospect of welcoming a newcomer to our conversational circle. Throughout this journey, I had the privilege of engaging with several esteemed relationship specialists, who shared their insights during the selection process.
Initially, it appeared highly likely that the panel was going to gain a fresh member, as the showrunners were strongly considering making an adjustment.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, the decision was reversed at the eleventh hour.
‘After being under consideration for some time, they eventually opted to continue using the approach that’s proven successful.’
For the upcoming season, the established team members – Mel Schilling, John Aiken, and Alessandra Rampolla – will continue to be part of our line-up.
Our reliable source confirms that the lineup has undergone changes in the past and continues to do so. As producers, we are constantly seeking out fresh expertise.
As a seasoned talk show moderator with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that this year, we’re keeping our line-up unchanged. Mel, John, and Alessandra will once again grace our couch, bringing their unique perspectives and charisma to our audience. Having worked alongside them before, I know their chemistry is unmatched, and I am thrilled to have them back for another season of engaging conversations.
The idea of significant changes was strengthened due to Schilling’s lack of attendance at crucial filming occasions in July, most notably her absence at the hen’s party.
Social media buzzed rapidly as fans speculated if the long-time show contributor, present since season five, could be leaving for health issues or private matters.
In an exclusive reveal by Daily Mail Australia, it’s confirmed that Mel is indeed coming back and has already secured her spot for another season.

Is it time for Channel Nine to shake up the expert panel?
Have your say
Having spent over half a century traversing this vast planet, I find myself once again embarking on another adventure, this time touching down in the vibrant city of Sydney. As I stepped off the plane earlier this month, I was filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation, eager to join forces with my esteemed colleagues Alessandra Rampolla and John Aiken at our first dinner party. With a wealth of life experiences under my belt, I am always ready for new challenges and the opportunity to learn from others in my field.
On Instagram, the cherished expert posted a picture showing her beaming with health, accompanied by her husband Gareth and daughter Maddie prior to their flight departure.
‘Chemo done, Australia here we come,’ the therapist wrote in the caption.
At present, Mel resides in the United Kingdom and is nearing completion of shooting the most recent edition of the program produced there.
She recently underwent her final chemotherapy treatment amid her battle with colon cancer.
It has been disclosed that the producers and Channel Nine have been incredibly helpful towards the dating coach, providing her with understanding and adaptability as they worked around the demanding timetable of the show.
‘Mel has been incredibly strong through her treatment,’ a source close to the production said.
As a devoted admirer, I can attest that the team behind the scenes has truly bent over backwards to make sure I have every resource at my disposal. They’ve shown exceptional flexibility with my schedule, accommodating my participation in meetings even when I’m joining from London via video call. This allows me to become acquainted with everyone involved.
As I, the lifestyle expert, was unable to attend the hen’s party to usher in next year’s brides alongside Alessandra, I’ve been deeply immersed in the matchmaking process, ensuring a harmonious union for those seeking love and companionship.
According to the source, Mel is fully committed to giving her best and is incredibly pleased with the assistance she’s received from her team.
A friend told Daily Mail Australia that Mel is back on set of season 12, feeling fit and strong.’
Mel revealed her diagnosis in December and subsequently went through surgery and chemotherapy following the onset of symptoms.
She revealed the cancer had left her feeling worn out.
In an emotional Instagram update, she posted a picture where she appeared tired and frowned at the camera following a lengthy day on set.
She posted, “Here I am, completely drained following an intense day at work. Despite being utterly tired, I feel content and am eagerly looking forward to a well-deserved rest.”
Afterwards, she concluded her contemplative message with some additional encouraging sentiments: “Cancer may be hard, yet I am stronger.”
Channel Nine has been approached for comment.
