‘Shooter’ Was a Big Hit With Audiences
Similar to numerous action movies preceding it, Shooter sparked a significant disagreement between critics and viewers. On Rotten Tomatoes, it received a less favorable rating of 47% from the former, earning the infamous “rotten” designation. Critics’ consensus stated that with its implausible narrative and numerous plot inconsistencies, Shooter struggled to differentiate itself from other mindless action-thrillers. However, audiences adored the film, bestowing it with an impressive 80% on the Popcornmeter. For fans of the genre, Shooter delivered the straightforward ’80s-style action movie thrills they crave.

Mark Wahlberg is additionally slated to appear in the crime thriller “Play Dirty,” directed by Shane Black, who is also known for “Iron Man 3” and “The Nice Guys.” In this film, he will portray Parker, a character that has been played by Mel Gibson and Jason Statham in previous movies. He will also join forces with Michelle Monaghan once more for the action-comedy sequel titled “The Family Plan 2.
