A surprising moment for fans occurred when Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill met Sigourney Weaver, a star from the series The Mandalorian and Grogu. Hamill shared on Bluesky that he was completely starstruck, admitting he acted like a huge fan during their encounter.

Mark Hamill wasn’t alone in becoming a big fan of Sigourney Weaver after watching Alien. The film is considered a classic of science fiction, and like the first Star Wars movie, it started a hugely successful series that continues even now.
Just like Mark Hamill seems to have finished with Star Wars, Sigourney Weaver has probably moved on from the Alien movies. Interestingly, she’s now joined the Star Wars universe, which Hamill just recently found out.

She’s shared that she plays a former Rebel pilot now dedicated to keeping the peace in the Outer Rim – the area of the galaxy where The Mandalorian and Grogu usually operate.
It’s strange to see her in the Star Wars universe, especially since she’s so well-known from another classic sci-fi series that began in the 1970s. While Alien and Star Wars both fall into the science fiction genre, they’re actually quite different movies.
It’s fantastic to see these two science fiction icons in one picture. It would be amazing if they collaborated on a project someday – perhaps even starting a brand new series. I, for one, would definitely tune in!
