Hamill admitted he was hesitant to reprise his role, fearing it wouldn’t live up to the original. He believed the focus should shift to new characters, suggesting it’s difficult to recreate past success.

Mark Hamill initially hesitated to join the new project, but changed his mind when Harrison Ford, known for his role as Han Solo, agreed to return. Hamill had assumed Ford wasn’t interested and noticed his reluctance to discuss the character.
