Mariska Hargitay’s Heartbreaking Documentary About Her Late Mother Revealed!

Mariska Hargitay announced that she’s working on a documentary centered around her mother, the late acting legend, Jayne Mansfield.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled beyond words! You know who I’m talking about, the brilliant actress from Law & Order: SVU, is stepping into the director’s chair for an upcoming project that’s personally close to her heart. This one’s titled “My Mom Jayne.” Can’t wait to see this masterpiece unfold!

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming film, scheduled for release in June. In an exclusive statement to The Hollywood Reporter, our cherished actress, at 61, beautifully described this project as a ‘loving and yearning labor,’ a testament to her profound dedication to her craft.

In the ’50s and ’60s, Jayne wasn’t just renowned as a global icon of beauty, but she also garnered accolades for her acting skills – earning a Golden Globe Award and a Theatre World Award.

Jayne tragically died at age 34 in a car accident in Biloxi, Mississippi on June 29, 1967.

During a terrible car accident, Mariska was riding with her mother when it happened. At that time, she was only three years old, accompanied by her brothers Miklos who was eight, and Zoltan who was six.

On June 29, 1967, an accident occurred on US Highway 90 in Biloxi. Present in the front row were Jayne, her attorney Sam Brody (aged 40), partner Sam, their driver Ronald B. Harrison (19), and two of Jayne’s dogs. In the back, there were Jayne’s three children Mariska, Miklos, and Zoltan, along with two more dogs.

After midnight, they departed from the Gus Stevens Supper Club, intending to travel to New Orleans where Jane had a scheduled appearance the following day.

At exactly 2:25 am on June 29, 1967, the car collided with the rear of a slow-moving tractor-trailer. This happened due to an insecticide spraying truck that was ahead, flashing a red light, which caused the situation.

In the first group – Jayne, Sam, and Ronald, along with two dogs – suffered immediate fatalities. However, those in the second group, which included her three children and two more dogs, only sustained minor injuries.

The kids were sleeping in the back of the car.

As a lifestyle expert, I can share that my family composition is quite diverse, having been blessed with five wonderful children through the years. Firstly, I have a daughter named Jayne Marie, who I had with my first spouse, Paul Mansfield. Then, I welcomed three beautiful children – Miklos, Zoltan, and Mariska – during my marriage to Mickey Hargitay. Last but not least, my youngest son Antonio came along when I tied the knot with Matt Cimber. Each of these kids adds a unique sparkle to my life!

Born on April 19, 1933, Jayne initially graced the pages of Playboy magazine as the February 1955 Playmate of the Month, with subsequent appearances in various later editions.

In her acting career, she was featured in the films “The Girl Can’t Help It,” “The Wayward Bus,” “Too Hot to Handle,” and “Promises! Promises!”, as well as the Broadway production “Will Success Spur on Hunter?”.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mariska expressed that this movie represents a deeply personal journey for her. It’s about discovering the mother she never had the chance to know, embracing a piece of herself she hadn’t acknowledged before, and retelling her mother’s story as well as her own truth.

She noted that her long-held conviction that vulnerability carries power has been reinforced more strongly than ever during the creation of this movie.

The television series titled “My Mom Jayne,” set to be aired on HBO, will depict Mariska’s journey as she strives to comprehend, appreciate, and bond with her mother for the very first time, according to the source.

Mariska gained recognition in the entertainment industry, particularly for her memorable portrayal of Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in Hollywood.

She has played Olivia in the hit series since 1999.

She has won the Globe Globe and Emmys twice, and she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.
