Marisa Abela and Jamie Bogyo got married on Saturday at a beautiful, historic manor house in Sussex. The wedding was a glamorous event, attended by their loved ones and reminiscent of classic Hollywood.
The couple got married in a beautiful late-afternoon ceremony at Firle Place. As a sweet reminder of how their love story began, Marisa walked down the aisle to the music from the movie *Cinema Paradiso* – the film they shared during their first romantic moments together.
Nate Janis, Jamie’s best man, led the wedding ceremony, and both fathers shared touching readings.
Liadán Dunlea and Iwan Davis, who were classmates at drama school, gave a moving performance of John Martyn’s song ‘May You Never’.
Marisa, 28, looked incredibly elegant in a satin gown by Emilia Wickstead, as seen in new photos published by British Vogue. She completed the look with a striking, nine-foot-long veil.
As a style expert, I was immediately drawn to this wedding dress! It’s a gorgeous, classic white gown with a definite Audrey Hepburn vibe. The design features a flattering drop waist and these beautifully fitted, barely-there sleeves that really accentuate the arms. And the structured corset? It creates such a streamlined, elegant shape – totally timeless!
She completed her stunning gown with custom-made Jimmy Choo Max 150 heels. The shoes were personalized with the couple’s initials on the soles, making them a sweet and meaningful detail.
Amy Winehouse finished her wedding look with a neat, slicked-back bun and sparkling diamond jewelry, including drop earrings and a headpiece.
Let me tell you, Jamie absolutely nailed his look! He wore a stunning custom-made tuxedo from Dunhill – a classic double-breasted style with a really sharp black-and-white detail. It was impeccably tailored and truly made him stand out.
Following the ceremony, Marisa wore a second dress by Emilia Wickstead – a beautiful ivory gown called the Micheline – for the evening reception.
The dress was long and sleek, cut in a flattering column shape. It had a tailored fit and a modern, square neckline.
Marisa explained to British Vogue that she chose her dress because it was both strikingly simple and easy to move in. She needed something she could dance comfortably in!
She explained that she wanted an outfit that was both confident and true to her personal style. She loves tailored clothing, and the sporty shorts allowed her to feel comfortable and free.
The newly married couple celebrated with their guests, enjoying confetti, champagne, cocktails, and delicious appetizers after exchanging vows.
That evening, guests were taken to Soho House Brighton for a cozy dinner and then spent the night dancing.
Marisa kicked off the weekend’s celebrations by wearing a special dress from The Own Studio and a stylish hat by Noel Stewart to the couple’s rehearsal dinner.
In July earlier this year, Marisa revealed she was engaged to the West End star.
The actress, known for playing Amy Winehouse in the movie *Back to Black*, announced the news on Instagram, saying she was overcome with emotion and crying.

It was such a sweet moment! Our favorite actress was completely shocked when all her friends and family showed up to celebrate with her and her partner – everyone was just so happy for them and their wonderful news.
An adorable snap holding onto a rose also allowed Marisa to show off her whopping diamond ring.
