Marie Osmond breaks her silence on brother Wayne’s death as she says she has a ‘giant hole’ in her heart
Marie Osmond has broken her silence on her brother Wayne’s death at age 73 on New Year’s Day.
The singer expressed deep sorrow, saying she felt an immense void or emptiness in her heart following the unexpected death caused by a severe stroke.
As a Dancing With The Stars alum, she expressed that it’s undeniable Wayne had a lengthy and prosperous career as an entertainer, musician, and songwriter. However, what truly resonated with her as his sister were the delightful, humorous moments we shared together filled with laughter, and the profound intellectual discussions we had that enlightened me greatly.
‘He was always my safe place to go when I needed advice,’ she added.
Marie also said that Wayne loved deeply.
In her post, it was expressed that he lavished affection on his cherished spouse, Kathy, and their stunning family, which included his children and grandchildren. This topic was the constant focus of his conversations! 💗
Additionally, Osmond expressed her respect for him due to his profound faithfulness and steadfast commitment towards God the Father and Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.

His guiding principle throughout his life was unwavering, and he served as a beacon of inspiration to many by sharing his faith in God’s grand design for our existence. If possible, take some time to enjoy one of his preferred albums penned by my siblings titled “The Blueprint.
Currently, if I could express anything to him, it would be: “Wayne, there is nothing more precious to me than being loved by you in this world! You are an authentic, caring brother, and I will deeply miss you.

Her note began with an explanation.
As a committed devotee, I’ve chosen to step away from social media platforms for nearly a year now, finding it essential to disconnect and invest more time with my beloved family, I continue to uphold this decision.
A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of going on a lengthy road trip to spend quality time with my dear brother Wayne. Somehow, I sensed an inner call to be with him, and I’m incredibly grateful for having followed that instinct. Those precious moments we shared will remain etched in my memory forever. Unbeknownst to me then, only a few days after our meeting, he suffered a severe stroke.
Until now, I’ve avoided giving interviews or making official statements. However, expressing what’s in my heart about this exceptional man has proven challenging. Yet, I’ll strive to do justice to one of the kindest souls I’ve encountered.
Wayne’s caused of death was revealed last week.
Merrill Osmond, his brother, disclosed that he had suffered a severe stroke. Over a dozen years ago, he had already experienced his first stroke.
Upon receiving the news, he swiftly made his way to the hospital, where he managed to express his final farewells. Additionally, it should be noted that Kathlyn Louise White, once crowned Miss Utah, is Wayne’s spouse.
The crooner had a history of health problems.
1997 saw him being diagnosed with a brain tumor that was subsequently treated effectively, alas, the treatment resulted in hearing loss as it affected his cochlea significantly, almost rendering Wayne deaf. Unfortunately, a stroke in 2012 took away his ability to play the guitar.
Wayne shared with Coping magazine that his health began to deteriorate during their tour in 1994, as he recalled an instance in Branson where he could no longer play the saxophone due to persistent headaches.
I’d become weak-kneed whenever I was performing, almost collapsing on the spot. This started occurring just a week into it.
It was during this time that Wayne received a diagnosis of ependymoma cancer and underwent a 17-hour operation to extract a tumor. After this, he spent several weeks receiving radiation treatment before being permitted to perform on stage again.
Born in Utah, this individual was the second eldest among the initial vocalists known as the Osmond Brothers, and also the fourth eldest within the family of nine Osmond siblings.
Wayne is the first of the Osmond siblings to pass away.
The Osmonds legend’s passing was confirmed by his family in an emotional statement to KTVX.
According to a statement from the local ABC affiliate KTVX, Wayne Osmond, cherished spouse and parent, passed away tranquilly last night in the company of his adoring wife and five children.
The impact he made through his faith, music, affection, and humor has touched countless lives globally.
He’d express his belief that the teachings of Jesus Christ are genuine, emphasize the idea of eternal families, and profess a fondness for banana splits as the superior dessert. We hold him dear and will deeply feel his absence.
Wayne and his kin have been harmonizing since their early years, achieving notoriety in the vibrant ’60s as they showcased their talents at Disneyland.
Their frequent appearances on the well-liked variety program, The Andy Williams Show, boosted their recognition. Known for their tight-knit bond and pure lifestyle, this Mormon family gained prominence.
The boys also became teen idols.
Wayne collaborated with his brothers and sisters in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, putting on a performance together, and they regularly came together to celebrate their birthdays.
Several of Wayne Osmond’s siblings have taken to social media to pay tribute to him.
Jay Osmond expressed that among all his siblings, he’s always had the strongest emotional bond with Wayne.
He expressed: “I’m profoundly grieved by the passing of my brother, Wayne. People say that with immense love comes intense sorrow as we separate in our terrestrial voyage.
It brings me great pleasure to realize that my brother, Wings, has earned his wings. I can’t help but picture the incredible heights he must be reaching at this moment.
Merrill stated, “Before entering our world, my brother was already a saintly figure, and when he departs, he’ll be a even more saintly person than when he arrived.
His leaving this world will bring sorrow to some, while those eagerly awaiting him in another realm will celebrate with an exuberance that surpasses our wildest imaginations.
In a heartfelt message on Facebook, Wayne’s cherished daughter, Amy Cook, mourned the loss of her dear father. She fondly referred to him as an adored spouse and parent.
She said he had ‘passed away peacefully’ surrounded by ‘his loving wife and five children.’
