At that moment, she explained, she was merely jotting down all the thoughts and ideas that evoked a sense of Christmas for her – things that brought forth a festive feeling. Her intention was to share these feelings with others as well.

Although many people claim that composing the melody required just 15 minutes, Mariah clarified that the actual recording process wasn’t as seamless.

She admitted that the process of creating the record required some time, as carefully layering the background vocals and other details isn’t something that can be done quickly, like within just five minutes.
