Margot Robbie & Tim Burton’s Attack of the 50 Foot Woman Remake Gets a Major Update

I was completely blown away by Netflix’s animated movie in 2025 – it really took everyone by storm! I’m so thrilled to hear that the incredibly talented writers behind it are already landing another amazing project. It’s fantastic news, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan, the writers behind KPop Demon Hunters, will be writing the script for Tim Burton’s new version of the classic sci-fi film Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. is also producing and developing the remake.

Tim Burton, known for directing films like Beetlejuice and Batman Forever, will direct a new version of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. He’s producing the film alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper. Kai Dolbashian will be an executive producer, and Morgan Begg will oversee the project for LuckyChap.

The 1958 film Attack of the 50 Foot Woman tells the story of a woman who, after being released from a mental institution, grows to an enormous size to confront her unfaithful husband. The movie was directed by Nathan Juran, written by Mark Hanna, and featured Allison Hayes and William Hudson in leading roles.

Jimenez and McMechan recently discussed their script for a remake of a classic sci-fi movie, explaining that they were inspired by the idea of a giant woman seeking revenge after being wronged by a man. They believe this story will resonate with many viewers.

The film KPop Demon Hunters became Netflix’s most popular movie ever and received nominations for three Golden Globe Awards and five Grammy Awards. It also won awards for best animated feature at the Critics’ Choice Awards and best original song. Time magazine named it their 2025 Breakthrough of the Year.

Will Robbie Star in the Reboot?

Robbie’s production company is working on a remake of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and in August 2025, it was reported that Robbie was being considered for a leading role in the film.

In 2024, Tim Burton explained his approach to filmmaking, saying he doesn’t truly commit to a project until he’s actually on set and working. He’s learned from past experiences – like when a Superman movie he was developing fell through after a year of work – that things can fall apart unexpectedly. These setbacks were emotionally difficult, so he now protects himself by not publicly confirming a project until filming begins. He’s realized that in Hollywood, a project can seem confirmed, only to be cancelled, and he wants to avoid that kind of disappointment.

Burton’s Attack of the 50 Foot Woman remake does not have a release date at this time.
