Margot Robbie isn’t the only star putting Clapham on the map as Raye names new heartbreak track after SW London street

Margot Robbie is well known for her love of Clapham Town in South West London.

It seems the 35-year-old Australian actress isn’t alone in her appreciation for the area, as singer Raye, 28, has just released a new song titled after one of its streets.

This week, the British singer-songwriter released her new single, “Nightingale Lane,” which is named after a peaceful street in Clapham South.

Okay, so Raye just DROPPED these Instagram pics, and I swear I almost lost it! I zoomed in, and it’s definitely Nightingale Lane and Old Park Avenue in the backgrounds! I’m convinced this means new music is coming, and those locations have to be important to the theme. I’ve been screenshotting and analyzing everything, and I’m so hyped!

Scrawled on sticky notes were hints: ‘It happened in June… near Old Park Avenue and Nightingale Lane…’

‘Like the way, you, loved, me. Like the way you loved me.’

A test pressing of the vinyl record includes a handwritten note stating: ‘She experienced the worst heartbreak of her life here – February 27th, 2019.’

The singer from Britain is releasing a new album called ‘This Music May Contain Hope’ on March 27th, and this song is a sad ballad from it.

Raye’s new song, created with Tom Richards, explores the deepest heartbreak she’s ever experienced.

Okay, so after ‘WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!’ absolutely blew up and hit Number 1 in the UK – can you believe it?! – Raye is following it up with ‘Nightingale Lane’! Seriously, ‘WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!’ was her second song to top the charts, and I’ve been playing it on repeat ever since. I’m already obsessed with everything she does, and I can’t wait for this new one!

I’m so excited about this new release! It’s dropping just before I take the stage at the BRIT Awards, where I’m up for two incredible awards – Song of the Year for ‘WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!’, and Best Pop Act. It’s a huge honor, and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!

As a lifestyle expert, I’m so excited for the BRIT Awards! This year, for the very first time, the show is happening at Manchester’s amazing new Co-op Live Arena this Saturday. It’s going to be a huge night for music!

After getting rid of separate awards for male and female artists, the ceremony has received criticism for not nominating enough women. This was especially noticeable in 2023 when all the nominees for Artist of the Year were men.

Things will look different in 2026, as women and non-binary individuals are expected to make up 70% of this year’s nominees.

Lola Young and Olivia Dean are the frontrunners for the awards, each receiving five nominations. Lily Allen, making a successful return to music, is also a strong contender with three nominations for her highly praised album, West End Girl.

As a huge fan, it’s heartbreaking to learn that this album is really about the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour. She’s bravely put all her pain into her music, and it seems like she’s sharing how deeply hurt she was by rumors of infidelity during their time together. It’s incredibly raw and honest, and you can really feel the emotion in every song.

At the awards ceremony, she’s nominated for Artist of the Year alongside Young and Dean. She’s also in the running for Album of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year.

Olivia Young, age 24, has also been nominated for Breakthrough Artist and Alternative/Rock Act, but it’s unclear if she’ll be at the awards show.

She reacted to the news with disbelief, saying, ‘Five BRIT Award nominations? It feels surreal! I’ve dreamed of this so many times, I almost expect to wake up any minute.’

Oh my gosh, I’m absolutely floored! This is a dream come true, honestly. Just being nominated is incredible, and to be listed with those other amazing people… I’m so, so grateful. I can barely believe it’s happening!

In 2025, Dean, age 26, achieved a feat last accomplished by Adele in 2021: she topped the UK charts with both her single, ‘Man I Need,’ and her album, ‘The Art Of Loving,’ in the same week.

She has been nominated in five categories and will be performing at the Award ceremony.

The singer said it’s amazing to go from being a student in the audience at The BRIT School to performing there ten years later, and they’re really looking forward to the show in Manchester.

British rapper Dave received nominations in three categories: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Hip Hop, Grime, or Rap Act.

In 2025, the 27-year-old artist released his third album, ‘The Boy Who Played The Harp.’ He’s now the first British rapper to have three albums reach the top of the UK charts upon their release.

Raye received one nomination this year, following her incredible success last year when she won a record-breaking six awards.

The 28-year-old singer had a successful night, winning three awards including Song of the Year for her popular track ‘Escapism’ featuring 070 Shake. She also took home the awards for R&B Act and Best New Artist.

She now has the record for winning the most BRIT Awards at one event. Previously, Blur, Adele, and Harry Styles all shared the record with four wins each in 1995, 2016, and 2023 respectively.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m losing it! Raye is the last performer announced for the BRIT Awards! Can you believe it?! It’s happening on February 28th, and she’s going to be there! I’m seriously counting down the seconds. I knew she deserved this, and now we finally get to see her shine on that stage! I’m so excited, I can barely breathe!

The singer, whose real name is Rachel Keen, will take to the stage during the star-studded show.

Before taking the stage, Raye expressed her gratitude to the BRIT Awards for inviting her and her band to perform again. She shared her excitement and sent her love to everyone.

British icons Pulp have received their first nomination for Group of the Year since 1996.

This year’s nominations include strong representation from Hollywood, with the KPop-inspired group HUNTR/X from Netflix receiving a nomination for International Song of the Year for their song ‘Golden’ and also being considered for International Group of the Year.

Cynthia Erivo received her first nomination for Song of the Year with Mastercard for her performance of “Defying Gravity” from the musical Wicked.

Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and Chappell Roan are also nominated for awards alongside other international artists.

Since 2011, the BRIT Awards have taken place every year at London’s O2 Arena. However, the Daily Mail reports that this year’s show, considered the most important event in British music, will be held in Manchester. Organizers are also planning to move the awards ceremony to different cities around the UK in the years to come.

Jack Whitehall is back to host the awards show for the sixth time. He’s hosted before in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2025.

He left the show in 2022, with Mo Gilligan hosting for the next two years. In 2024, Maya Jama, Roman Kemp, and Clara Amfo all co-hosted the event.

This will be Whitehall’s first performance in Manchester, a city he feels shaped his comedy beginnings. He studied at The University of Manchester, which played a key role in developing his early career.

A recent social media video, called ‘Ode to Manchester,’ featured the TV personality highlighting famous Manchester spots like the Curry Mile and the Coronation Street set.

He expressed his excitement about returning to the BRIT Awards in Manchester, a city he feels a strong connection to.

Honestly, coming back to Manchester to host at the Co-op Live feels… surreal. It’s where it all began for me, you know? I did my very first ten-minute comedy set at a tiny club nearby, and now I’m headlining this massive venue! It’s a total full-circle moment, and I can barely believe it’s happening. It feels like everything has come together perfectly, and it means the world to me to be back where my comedy journey started.

He added: ‘Hopefully I get a few more laughs than I did that night. I cannot wait.’

The event in 2026 will be the first of three years overseen by Sony Music UK, the company that led the effort to move the event to Manchester.

The event has been held at many iconic locations over the years, including Earl’s Court, the London Arena, Alexandra Palace, Hammersmith Apollo, the Dominion Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall, the Grosvenor Hotel, and its very first venue, Wembley Conference Centre.

However, relocating the event from the capital marks a significant turning point in its history, perhaps the most dramatic change yet.

According to a source speaking with the Daily Mail, the BRIT Awards are leaving London for the first time in their 47-year history. Since the very first ceremony in 1977, the event has always been held in the capital city.

This will likely be disappointing for artists and performers in London, but many in the music industry believe these events don’t always have to take place at the same locations every year.

The BRIT Awards is the most important event in the UK music year, and now more people will be able to experience it live. By moving the event, it will be easier for fans in Manchester and nearby towns to attend.

Recently, many people have felt it was time to move the awards ceremony, following the examples of events like The Mercury Prize and The MOBO Awards. This is the first time the music industry won’t be so focused on London, benefiting both those nominated and their fans.

Jason Iley, CEO of Sony Music UK & Ireland, announced that The BRIT Awards are moving to Manchester. He believes this move, to a city known for its legendary musicians, will energize the show and continue the BRITs’ tradition of supporting and celebrating great music.

Holding the BRIT Awards in Manchester, a city known for its lively arts scene, really embodies the awards’ energy and vibe. I’m excited to experience the show at the incredible new Co-op Live arena.

Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, stated that bringing The BRIT Awards to the city is a significant achievement for the region.

It’s fantastic that this renowned international event is finally coming to the UK’s vibrant center for music and culture after 48 years.

Greater Manchester is world-renowned for its incredible musical history, and this summer promises some truly massive concerts.

We were able to achieve this thanks to our dedication to supporting new artists and providing them with opportunities to gain recognition.

We’re thrilled the BRIT Awards are coming to Manchester and we’re committed to making it a fantastic event. Hosting the awards – known for its lively atmosphere – here is a new and exciting step for the BRITs, and we’ll do everything we can to ensure it’s a stylish success.
