While promoting her new film, a fresh take on ‘Wuthering Heights‘, Margot Robbie has embraced the style of the Georgian era with a modern, rebellious flair.
And while she has been wowing with her wardrobe, there is one look her fans are not fond of.
The Australian actor appeared on BBC Radio in London on Wednesday to promote their new film, and turned heads with a fashionable outfit featuring a floral corset top, low-rise jeans, and heeled boots.
She had a leather jacket slung over her shoulder and was wearing stylish oval sunglasses, her blonde hair flowing freely.
A video of the celebrity walking into the studio sparked fears among fans that low-rise jeans, popular in the early 2000s, might make a comeback.
People are big fans of her, but they’re begging her not to wear low-rise jeans again. One person wrote, “I love her so much but please, no low-rise jeans ever!” and another simply said, “She’s great, but let’s leave low-rise jeans in the past!”
Someone commented that Britney Spears immediately comes to mind when they think of low-rise jeans, adding that she wore them particularly well, unlike Margot in this instance.
One person expressed strong dislike for the return of low-rise jeans, saying they were very bothered by it. Another pleaded for the trend not to make a comeback.
Everyone’s been talking about Margot’s fashion choices on the tour. She’s worn several outfits that are both stylish and attention-grabbing.
Margot stunned the fashion world on Monday night at the Paris premiere of her film at Le Grand Rex, showcasing two different outfits.
Margot and Jacob Elordi star as Catherine and Heathcliff, a couple in love, in a new movie based on the classic 1847 novel by Emily Brontë. The film is a fresh take on the story.
Margot Robbie honored the film’s historical setting on the red carpet, wearing a stunning red velvet Chanel gown with a long, flowing train. She later changed into a chic black lace corset minidress.
Margot’s Chanel dress featured a fitted bodice that highlighted her figure, with a full skirt flowing around her and a glimpse of white lining underneath.
Margot finished her look with a diamond necklace – a choker featuring 100 carats of champagne-colored diamonds from Lorraine Schwartz.
In an interview, Margot admitted that she relished the movie’s emotional ‘swings’.
When asked about preparing for the romantic scenes, Margot Robbie told People magazine that they weren’t any different from other scenes. She explained that the movie generally requires a lot of effort from everyone involved.
My character is often crying throughout the story, but it was actually a really fun role to play. I enjoyed portraying someone who experiences such intense and rapidly changing emotions.
Emerald Fennell, the writer and director of the new film, made sure the sex scenes were handled with care, prioritizing the safety, trust, and well-being of everyone involved.
Emerald, the director of the 2023 film Saltburn, explained that her priority is creating a comfortable and trusting environment on set. She emphasized the importance of humor and being able to laugh things off as a team.
Love scenes aren’t really different from any other scene. We treat them like any other, focusing on the emotions involved.
Emerald also revealed that she relished the experience of working with Margot.
She said: ‘Do you know what? She’s an inspiration. She’s an extraordinary woman.
She’s a dedicated mother, a successful producer, and an incredibly gifted actress. On top of all that, she’s always kind and generous to those around her, making her truly exceptional.
Although the movie doesn’t come out until February 13th, early ticket sales look promising, suggesting it could earn between $30 and $35 million in its first weekend in the United States.
If successful, the new film could be Jacob’s highest-grossing opening weekend and Margot’s first major hit since the blockbuster ‘Barbie’ in 2023.
The marketing for Barbie, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and with a cameo by Emerald Fennell as Midge, cost a staggering $150 million.
The Barbie marketing campaign was massive, including a bright pink Malibu Barbie DreamHouse available to rent on Airbnb and a four-part special on HGTV. Over 100 fashion and lifestyle brands also participated, creating Barbie-themed products and promotions.
