Margot Robbie fans go wild over red carpet ‘slip-up’ about her husband and joke she ‘must be in an open relationship’ following red carpet moment

Margot Robbie’s fans reacted excitedly to what seemed like a playful mistake she made on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Wuthering Heights’ when talking about her husband.

During a red carpet interview, the 35-year-old actress playfully referred to her partner as ‘husband… or whoever’ when discussing who she’d see an upcoming movie with. Fans quickly responded online, jokingly suggesting she might be in an open relationship.

As a big fan, I was really interested to hear Margot Robbie explain why they chose February 13th as the release date for the film. She shared the reasoning behind it, and it makes a lot of sense considering she also produced it through her company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

She suggested that if she were in that situation, she’d want to go out with her female friends on a Friday night, have some cocktails, and maybe get dressed up a bit.

I decided to release it on Valentine’s Day because I’d usually spend that weekend with my husband – or whoever I was with – and it just seemed like the right time.

Okay, seriously, when Margot Robbie said who she’d want to see ‘Barbie’ with, the entire fandom just exploded! It was like, instantly decided – ‘Barbie’ isn’t just a movie, it’s a moment. Everyone started saying it has to be ‘girls’ night, from now until forever!’ I mean, she gets it. It’s not just a film, it’s a whole vibe, and that vibe is best shared with your besties. I’m already planning my tenth viewing with my girls!

I saw this clip The Hollywood Reporter posted on TikTok, and it instantly reminded me of a line from the Barbie movie! Someone commented that it felt like a nod to when Barbie says, “tonight’s girls night,” and I totally agree. It was such a fun connection!

Others added: ‘AHAHAHAH poor husband; ‘My husband or Jacob Elordi, or whoever????’;

‘Do they have an open marriage or .. ??’; ‘My husband or whoever lol’; ‘husband or whoever LOLOL.’

Margot and Tom first connected on a movie set in 2013. They later started a production company together and eventually married privately a few years after that.

The couple welcomed a son together in October 2024 and have kept his name private.

Tom attended the Los Angeles premiere of Wuthering Heights this week, and he looked stylish in a traditional black tuxedo.

The actress waltzed onto the red carpet in a breathtaking couture gown by Schiaparelli.

Everyone was looking at Margot’s revealing neckline, which was decorated with a famous piece of jewelry once owned by Elizabeth Taylor.

Margot wore a sparkling, heart-shaped necklace—reportedly worth $8 million—close to her neck, with the gold chain draping down her back.

A new movie adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic love story, Wuthering Heights, will arrive in theaters on February 13th, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Tom produced the new adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which features mature themes and is directed by Emerald Fennell, known for her work on Saltburn.

His wife stars as Cathy Earnshaw, and their passionate but doomed love story with the enigmatic Heathcliff (played by Jacob Elordi) causes pain and suffering for their families over many years on the wild, open landscapes of Yorkshire.

Some critics have raised concerns about the casting choices for the upcoming film. They’ve pointed out that Jacob Elordi, who is white, was cast as a character the author, Emily Brontë, described as having dark skin. Additionally, some feel Margot Robbie is too old to portray Cathy, who is a teenage character in the book.

Fennell explained the film required someone with Margot Robbie’s captivating presence – someone who commands attention and creates a strong reaction from viewers.
