Expectant Margot Robbie showcased her effortless maternity fashion once again, as she and her husband Tom Ackerley arrived in Toronto on Monday.
As a lifestyle expert, I found myself wheeling my suitcases through the bustling transit station, eagerly anticipating the arrival of my first child with my partner by our side.
For the special event, the 34-year-old actress opted for a stylish airport outfit, which included a brown jacket gracefully layered over her pregnancy.
For the rest of her attire, she prioritized comfort, choosing a set of beige leggings and a matching hat in the style of a baseball cap.
Margot pushed a cart full of luggage through the terminal, her face partially concealed with a black face mask.
The Barbie star lightly accessorized the look, opting for gold hoop earrings and her wedding band.
Her husband sported a tan hoodie, trousers, and a grey cap.
Along with his wife, he also moved a mix of their possessions at the airport as they both walked briskly.
Last month, multiple reliable sources told People magazine that Margot is anticipating the birth of her first child with Tom.
The power couple were later said to be relieved the pregnancy news was out.
A source close to them shared with People that family is deeply important to both individuals, and from the beginning of their relationship, they had a strong desire to become parents.
‘They’ve been keeping it under wraps for a while but are happy the news is out.’
Various reports verified the thrilling announcement about the pair, who crossed paths while filming the World War II production titled Suite Française in 2013, to People magazine.
In the year 2014, this pair crossed paths, and they exchanged wedding vows two years later in 2016. Together, they serve as joint producers for several ventures, with one such example being Hulu’s Dollface, under their production company LuckyCap Entertainment.
In 2013, they first crossed paths during their collaboration on Suite Française. At that time, he served as an assistant director and she was the one appearing on screen.
She once shared with Vogue that she was completely independent during that time, and the concept of romantic relationships left her feeling nauseous when referring to her initial stage of romance.
‘And then this crept up on me. We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot.
‘Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him. And then it happened, and I was like, Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before,’ she said
They started dating the following year in 2014 and got married in 2016.
In 2016, she shared with The Daily Telegraph that one of the most beneficial pieces of advice she gained from other couples in her field was to not spend more than three weeks apart from each other.
“Maintaining a long-distance relationship can be quite challenging when it seems endless, and hope appears distant. It can cause confusion in one’s thoughts, but following the ‘three-week rule’ is crucial for keeping things manageable,” she explained.
As someone who has been in the public eye for many years, I understand the importance of privacy in one’s personal relationships. I admire couples who are able to keep their love lives out of the spotlight and only share what they feel comfortable with the world. The fact that this particular couple didn’t walk the red carpet together until 2017, almost a full year after their wedding, speaks volumes about their dedication to maintaining their private life. It takes strength and maturity to prioritize your relationship over public opinion and I believe that they are setting an excellent example for others in Hollywood and beyond. Their decision to keep their relationship out of the limelight allows them to build a strong foundation for their future together, away from the scrutiny and pressure of the public eye.
But, when it comes to working with Tom, she’s all in.
‘I’m a great advocate of doing business with your partner,’ she told Porter in 2018.
In my experience, nothing compares to the joy of being married; it’s as if life has suddenly become even more delightful. As someone’s wife, I feel a sense of responsibility to continually strive for improvement.
The couple have worked together on several projects including I, Tonya, Birds of Prey and Barbie.
