Margaret Qualley sends fans wild as she grabs Aubrey Plaza’s bottom in viral video from Cannes
2025 Cannes Film Festival has left me absolutely exhilarated! The internet is buzzing with a captivating video featuring none other than Aubrey Plaza and Margaret Qualley that’s taking the world by storm. I can’t help but be completely smitten by their unforgettable moment on the red carpet!
On the previous Friday, both Plaza, aged 40, and Qualley, who is 30 years old, graced the world premiere of their latest movie “Honey Don’t!” at the ongoing French festival.
Plaza made her first public appearance on a red carpet since her husband, Jeff Baena, took his own life in January at the age of 47.
Qualley tried her hardest to calm Plaza’s anxieties while they faced photographers side by side at the lavish French event.
During the premiere, she playfully swatted at the celebrity’s backside in a moment that has since gone viral, causing him to chuckle. A video clip of this interaction can be found online.

In the captured moments, the actors stand together, their arms looped around each other, smiling for pictures side by side.
Subsequently, Qualley gently guides her hand along Plaza’s spine, traveling all the way to her bedazzled posterior.
After the camera stopped flashing, I couldn’t help but share a hearty laugh with my co-star, Qualley, as we gracefully made our way further along the glittering red carpet, hand in hand with the rest of the talented team behind Honey Don’t! It was an unforgettable moment filled with camaraderie and pure joy.
swiftly went viral on the web, as spectators playfully dubbed Plaza and Qualley an exceptional pair, generating laughter.
Although Plaza is rumored to be unmarried, Qualley is wedded to Jack Antonoff, who has been a long-term partner of Taylor Swift. (Antonoff is 41 years old.)
Many admired the strong bond between Plaza and Qualley, as evidenced by one fan’s comment: “I appreciate their chemistry.
Nevertheless, some spectators expressed outrage over the clip, claiming that the exuberant reaction to Qualley’s backside grab perpetuates a ‘disparity in standards.’
‘Imagine it was a man !!!! But a woman can !!!’ penned one angry Instagram user.

At the very same Cannes premiere, Qualley appeared to be consoling Plaza, who was spotted hastening towards her fellow actor in an emotional video posted by Variety.
On her grand comeback to the red carpet, Plaza exuded pure elegance, donning a floor-length, semi-transparent dress adorned with a sleek, strapless white bodysuit beneath it.
The dress shimmered with a number of beaded embellishments.
She accessorized with statement earrings and gold peep-toe heels.
The star’s brunette tresses were styled in loose curls.
Meanwhile Margaret wowed in an off-the shoulder cream gown with a black bow in the middle.
In the show “Honey Don’t!”, Qualley plays Honey O’Donahue, a local detective from a quiet town, who unexpectedly gets caught up in a puzzling series of mysterious fatalities.
Plaza stars as a police officer working with O’Donahue.
The dark comedy film directed by Fargo’s Ethan Coen is set to hit theaters on August 22.

For the first time since her husband’s unexpected suicide, audiences will have the chance to witness Plaza returning to her work on the silver screen.
Back in March, it became known that Aubrey and Baena had quietly parted ways about four months prior to his unexpected death at the age of 47.
A DailyMail.com-obtained autopsy report from the LA County Medical Examiner showed that the filmmaker and actress had parted ways as far back as September of the previous year. At the moment his lifeless body was found on January 3rd, she was residing in New York City.
In his last few months, the director of Life After Beth was going through challenging times within his marriage, as well as seeking professional help through counseling.
The investigator mentioned in the records that the individual, whose identity was concealed in the concluding report, claimed to have conversed with Baena on the eve of his passing.
Additionally, the report indicated a sad truth – Plaza had been worried about her separated husband’s health.
In October 2024, Baena said something troubling to Plaza, leading her to contact a friend for a wellness evaluation of her spouse.
‘Baena had been attending therapy since that event,’ the documents stated.

According to the medical investigator’s findings, there were no traces of drugs or alcohol in Baena’s body at the moment he passed away.
The text implied that Plaza was certain her husband was still alive on January 3, as she received a text from him earlier in the day.
The report suggested that a dog walker found Baena deceased, having been alerted by an uncharacteristic amount of loud music coming from his residence. She described this as out of the ordinary.
Upon calling the writer and director but not receiving a response, she instead ventured into their residence and found their lifeless body within.
According to reports from DailyMail.com, a spokesperson for the Plaza stated: ‘This is an inconceivably sad event. We express our heartfelt thanks to those who have shown kindness. We kindly ask for understanding and privacy as we cope with this situation.’
Baena kicked off his career in the film industry with a solid foundation, having gained practical experience while working as a production assistant under Robert Zemeckis and serving as an assistant editor for David O. Russell during his studies at New York University.
His major opportunity arrived when he collaborated on the script for the cult favorite existential comedy I Heart Huckabees, released in 2004.
Approximately ten years after that, he transitioned into directorial roles, making his debut with the 2014 film Life After Beth, a romantic horror-comedy that featured Aubrey Plaza as its lead actress.
They reunited for 2016’s Joshy and 2017’s The Little Hours, which Plaza also produced.

In addition to working frequently with actress Alison Brie, Baena also teamed up with her for projects such as The Little Hours. She was a significant part of his last two films, serving both as an actor and co-writer for the psychological drama Horse Girl in 2020 and the dark comedy thriller Spin Me Round in 2022.
In 2011, Plaza and Baena started going out together, and in 2018, she revealed to Page Six that their shared passion for films played a significant role in bringing them closer, ultimately leading to their collaborative and loving relationship.
In 2021, she publicly acknowledged that they had secretly gotten married a year prior during her promotional activities for the movie “Spin Me Round,” where she played a supporting character. This was evident when she addressed Baena on Instagram as her “dear husband.
Plaza has been making tentative steps to get back into the world after Baena’s devastating death.
The actress, for the first time since Baena’s passing in February, stepped into public view during SNL’s 50th anniversary special, where she presented musical acts Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard.
In a touching nod to her deceased spouse, she paid a quiet yet emotional homage by donning a shirt with tie-dye patterns, symbolizing one of his cherished pastimes and their wedding day.
