Maren Morris claims a fan ‘grabbed my a**’ during a meet-and-greet in Michigan

Maren Morris, 35, has claimed she was groped by a fan at her Michigan show.

During her Dreamsicle Tour across the country, the female artist experienced an intrusion into her personal space during a meet-and-greet event in Grand Rapids on Thursday.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d rephrase that sentence to:

“Sharing some reflections from tonight’s event on my Instagram Stories, I found myself in an unexpected situation. During the pre-show meet and greet, someone took liberty with a rather inappropriate gesture. Despite the fun atmosphere of the night, this incident was certainly not part of the plan.

Meet and greets are often part of a VIP experience that fans pay extra to attend.

The award-winning artist expressed her intention to carry on with the celebration as one individual should not spoil it for everyone else.

‘I’m looking forward to bonding, exchanging ideas, and giving warm embraces. But remember, it’s crucial to respect each person’s boundaries. Sending you lots of love.’

Morris, who came out as bisexual in June 2024, did not identify the person who groped her.

After making her announcement, the artist behind “Chasing After You” has faced a decrease in followers, yet she insisted on staying authentic to herself.

In an interview with TZR magazine, published in May, she expressed that a particular aspect of her identity had previously felt private, but she now wished to share it. She desired to forge connections not only with her fans but also with her LGBTQ+ community.

Her song “Push Me Over” was collaboratively penned alongside the LGBTQ+ band MUNA, and it narrates one of her early encounters involving a female partner.

After their divorce, the artist known as The Middle is working through the consequences, especially since both she and her ex-husband Ryan Hurd, aged 38, are musicians and share a five-year-old son named Hayes.

On the Therapuss podcast last June, I opened up about a unique friendship dynamic that once left me wanting more. To be precise, there was an instance where I felt the absence of a certain connection with a previous acquaintance.

In Nashville, she mentioned that it’s been about a year since her divorce. Being a close-knit community, everyone knows each other, works together, and the music industry is quite compact.

My ex and I are very close, being parents to our shared son who is our top concern. It feels strange since we spent such a long time together that many of our friends have found themselves in an unusual position because of it.

Host Jake Shane asked, “Shall we take positions?” To which she responded, “More in the context of mutual respect.

A while ago, about two months back, I ran into an old friend of my ex’s at a bar. Coincidentally, I was there with my closest companion, someone who, along with this mutual friend, we used to socialize extensively for over ten years. Now, it’s striking how the situation seems odd. Initially, it feels uncomfortable. Perhaps it will be awkward for the initial few years, but I can’t say for certain if things will remain that way indefinitely.

Morris will keep traversing North America until September 26. Following this, she’ll have a brief rest before embarking on her European tour starting from November.
