Manu Feildel Trades His Chef Hat for a Gardening Glove!

On Saturday, it became clear that Manu Feildel is versatile as he was seen tending to his garden at his residence in Maroubra.

50-year-old star from My Kitchen Rules, Clarissa Weerasena’s husband, was seen putting in effort in their garden, working diligently alongside Clarissa, aiming to transform the grass area.

With all the appearance of a skilled handyman, the renowned chef worked up a sweat while transporting fresh grass into the garden, catching the eye of passersby.

From time to time, he paused for conversations with his beloved regarding their gardening strategies, finding moments of rest under the sheltering shade while they chatted.

Manu decided on a laid-back style, not worrying about it getting soiled, as he donned a simple black T-shirt and shorts of the same color.

He revealed his calf tattoo while putting on a pair of thick black socks and sturdy work boots, completing his look.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I often find myself delegating tasks around the house, and today was no exception. While I tackled the heavier chores, my partner, Clarissa, dived headfirst into decluttering our space by managing the trash removal. It’s all about sharing responsibilities in our household to maintain a harmonious living environment!

The woman, who is a mother of one, chose a practical outfit consisting of black leggings and a gray tank top. She also wore a red sun visor hat to shield her face from the sunlight.

It comes after Manu recently shared footage online of himself handling a shotgun.

In the brief video, the restaurant owner fired a gun at a location that seemed like an outdoor shooting range following its discharge.

Confidently brandishing a double-barreled shotgun, Manu would often be observed with it holstered at his side, ejecting a pair of used cartridges by opening the weapon.

In that Instagram video, captured in November, Manu turned his face aside at a certain moment to dodge the approaching cartridges that whizzed by his head in slow motion.

Currently, Manu’s friend, Colin Fassnidge, has shared information about their upcoming series on My Kitchen Rules.

At their latest Upfronts event in Sydney, it was revealed that the new show titled “Off The Grid” is set to air on Channel Seven as part of their 2025 television schedule.

The well-known Irish chef, aged 51, has disclosed that the upcoming series will take them, along with Manu, on a unique culinary journey off the typical tourist trail. This adventure will find them exploring New Zealand’s hidden food gems while traveling in a caravan.

Colin told Yahoo Lifestyle the idea for a road-trip series had been brewing for years.

Initially, Manu proposed an adventure titled “A Big Circumference of Australia,” which none of us were keen on participating in. However, during our stay in New Zealand, I suggested we could undertake this journey in a caravan instead. In essence, while the concept was Manu’s, I playfully claimed that my idea made it more appealing.

As a connoisseur of fine living, I must share an intriguing tidbit about the renowned culinary duo. In the past, they’ve been known to engage in playful banter, and this time around, viewers can anticipate some flavorful verbal sparring matches on their upcoming show.

Photos posted on Instagram reveal that there will likely be playful horse interactions, including scenes where they appear to bathe each other, during the filming process.

Manu and I have a good relationship, as depicted on Masterchef Australia; we often tease each other, but our Instagram posts mirror the dynamic you observe on the program,” he explained.

On the program, both affection and disagreements abound. It’s much like a married couple, but without the intimate aspects, is how he described it further.

Colin also revealed the series would air ‘ahead of the 2025 season of My Kitchen Rules’.

More recently, Manu has disclosed their past disagreement with colleague Colin, stating that it’s now behind them like water flowing beneath a bridge.

On Jess Rowe’s Big Talk Show, I found myself embroiled in a verbal skirmish with celebrity chef Bill Granger, all stemming from a disagreement over a meal at his restaurant in Sydney. To put it mildly, my dining experience left me underwhelmed, and apparently, that didn’t sit well with him.

Following a move from France to Australia in 1999, Manu gained valuable experience in various Australian eateries. Eventually, he assumed the role of head chef in the kitchen at a Sydney restaurant that is no longer operational.

Manu communicated to the show’s host, Jess Rowe, that Colin didn’t hesitate to express his dissatisfaction regarding his meal at X (previously recognized as Twitter).

Manu stated, “He visited Bilson’s restaurant, but wasn’t satisfied with his dinner, and at that point, we had received two hats as an award.

It seems he made a comment that I’m a jester, and he suggested I return to France, hang up my coat, and learn cooking.

Manu pointed out that it was Colin who kept stoking the flames on social media, since he enjoys stirring up trouble, or antagonizing others.

‘We never met each other, we just knew [of] each other,’ Manu said.

‘He enjoys engaging in online arguments on social media platforms. He can’t seem to stay away from it, it’s become a habit for him. In essence, this activity is a significant part of his life, and he finds pleasure in stirring up controversy.’

When Manu learned that Colin was going to be part of the cast on My Kitchen Rules, he found himself speechless with surprise.

It seems clear that the producers intended their actions, anticipating that the conflict generated behind the scenes would result in a significant increase in viewership.

Manu stated that it marked the start of a battle. In his opinion, it seemed like a lopsided struggle as he was continuously attacked by the other person.

One day, it was decided by MKR’s production team to add a third judge, and it was publicly announced that the new judge would be Colin Fassnidge.

‘I said to the producers, “Are you kidding me? The guy hates my guts,” and they said “We know.”‘

On Colin’s first day of shooting, Manu warmly greeted the Irish-born chef with a welcoming gesture.

‘I was always so comfortable in my shoes already I’d been there for about eight years,’ he said.

As soon as he entered, I warmly greeted him with a “Welcome to MKR!” I confided that initially, I found it challenging, but assured him, “Feel free to reach out to me if you ever need anything.

I found myself playing a pivotal role in facilitating a reconciliation when Manu’s wise words worked like magic, ultimately leading Colin to express remorse for his past actions.

Following the conclusion of that productive year, he approached me after the big finale and expressed, “I’d like to apologize for my rude behavior,” and since then, we have been great friends. The celebrity chef shared this.
