Manny Jacinto’s favorite move in The Acolyte is brutal
As a devoted Star Wars enthusiast who’s had the pleasure of witnessing countless intergalactic battles and duels, I must say that “Star Wars: The Acolyte” has left an indelible mark on my cosmic journey through the Force. The fight choreography in this series is nothing short of extraordinary, a testament to the skill and dedication of the cast and crew.
One aspect that’s widely admired about the series Star Wars: The Acolyte, is its exceptional fight choreography. The actors were required to learn an array of new combat techniques for their characters, and Manny Jacinto highlighted his preferred scene at Dragon Con 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. Now, it might not have been a traditional martial arts move, but it was the fight sequence he enjoyed the most filming. And let me tell you, it’s quite intense!
According to The Geeky Waffle, Jacinto expressed, “This action wasn’t a martial arts technique, and I deeply apologize to Charlie Barnett (who portrayed Yord). However, I genuinely enjoyed the moment of snapping his neck.”
) During one scene, viewers found themselves chuckling heartily. The episode titled “Night” garnered immense praise as it unveiled that Jacinto’s character Qimir was secretly a Sith Lord known as The Stranger. In this episode alone, several major characters met their untimely demise at the hands of The Stranger, who methodically eliminated them one after another. This surprising turn of events marked a significant leap in Star Wars television and tested the limits of the franchise on TV. Among those who perished were Charlie Barnett’s character Yord Fandar and the young padawan Jecki Lon, portrayed by Dafne Keen
At Dragon Con’s panel, as reported by The Geeky Waffle, it wasn’t just one moment that caused a stir; Manny Jacinto was also questioned about fan responses to the unveiling of The Stranger and the steamier fan-edited versions of his character. With a gentle laugh, Jacinto replied, “The internet can be quite peculiar. #CrazyInternet”
With laughter filling the room, he playfully remarked, “I’ve made this joke before. It’s not all me. A big part goes to baby oil and damp hair. All the praise is due them. It’s quite humbling. I feel flattered, and I’d rather not say anything more for fear of blushing too much. So, thank you.”
The series “The Acolyte” has been terminated, but its enthusiastic fanbase has launched an aggressive campaign to bring it back, nearing 70,000 signatures on their main petition
