Mandy Moore, Chrissy Teigen and more celebrities speak out after ICE fatally shoots nurse in Minneapolis: ‘This is terrifying territory’

Following a deadly shooting by ICE in Minneapolis this weekend, several Hollywood celebrities, including Mandy Moore and Chrissy Teigen, have publicly expressed their reactions and opinions.

Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse from Minnesota, was fatally shot during a confrontation with federal agents on Saturday.

During a press conference, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that Pretti became violent during the incident, and she also asked why he was carrying a gun, even though he had a legal permit to do so.

She stated that Pretti had interfered with ICE’s law enforcement work, assaulted the officers, and was carrying a weapon with a large amount of ammunition.

According to sources who spoke with the Daily Mail, friends of the deceased man, identified as Pretti, claim he was shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent.

Shortly after the shooting, Moore shared a New York Times article on her Instagram story with the headline: ‘Federal Agents Shoot And Kill A Person In Minneapolis, Officials Say.’

The actress then added her own message at the bottom which read, ‘We have eyeballs.

We watched the video, and it shows someone being killed who wasn’t the intended target. It’s unclear what will happen now, and the situation is deeply frightening.

Chrissy Teigen shared a tweet from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on her Instagram Stories.

A U.S. representative recently stated that American citizens are being harmed by their own government, claiming the Constitution is being disregarded and fundamental rights are being eroded. They urged people to actively oppose these actions.

Democratic senators should refuse to approve funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) this week. They should also deploy the National Guard. We have the ability and the responsibility to put a stop to this situation.

I was really struck by Chrissy Teigen’s support for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s message. She reshared a post from AOC on X about our duty to defend Americans against any kind of oppressive rule, and it really resonated with me. It’s powerful to see people with platforms speaking up about protecting our freedoms.

Just weeks after shooting a mother in the face without repercussions, Homeland Security officials have shot another person in broad daylight. They are asking for our support to continue operating as they have been, and we must refuse. Every Senator needs to vote against their proposals.

Chrissy Teigen also shared a post from journalist Molly Jong-Fast on X (formerly Twitter) expressing frustration with the administration’s denials of things that were clearly captured on video.

Busy Phillips expressed her grief and frustration after the shooting in a long Instagram post. She wrote that senseless killings will continue as long as those in power are able to get away with dishonesty, and urged people to contact their elected officials.

The actress urged people to protest and stop supporting businesses and individuals connected to this issue. She also encouraged voting out officials who support it, admitting she felt helpless and didn’t know what else to do.

She then questioned how so many people could fail to recognize they were supporting the wrong cause.

It’s baffling how people can’t see the clear harm caused by extreme greed and a thirst for power, especially when it’s so obvious. It’s frustrating that they just don’t understand.
