The upcoming revival of “Malcolm in the Middle” has verified its original cast members, but one significant role will be played by a different actor.
Previously, it had been established that Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek would return as Malcolm, Hal, and Lois, but now more actors have been added to the cast.
In the revival, Chris Masterson and Justin Berfield reprise their roles as Malcolm’s elder siblings Francis and Reese, while a fresh actor steps into the shoes of the youngest sibling, Dewey.
According to Deadline, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is stepping into the role of Dewey previously held by Erik Per Sullivan. Sullivan, who initially portrayed Dewey at age nine, chose to leave acting altogether upon turning eighteen.
In the upcoming version of the show, Anthony Timpano will portray the character of Malcolm’s younger brother Jamie, who was still an infant or toddler during the original series.

In the last installment of “Malcolm in the Middle,” Lois displayed a positive pregnancy test, hinting at the arrival of Malcolm’s youngest brother or sister during the revival.
As Kelly, a character brought to life by Vaughan Murrae, I identify as non-binary and pride myself on my self-reliance. I’m known for my academic achievements and, let me tell you, I’ve learned more in life than most of my family could ever imagine.
It’s been announced that actress Keeley Karsten, known for her role in the 2022 Steven Spielberg film “The Fabelmans,” will portray Malcolm’s daughter, Leah, in the upcoming project.
The comeback, consisting of four installments, is set to stream on Disney+, penned by the original series creator, Linwood Boomer.

Malcolm (Muniz) gets involved in a whirlwind of family events as Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) invite him to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
Last year, the news of the revival was shared via an Instagram video, where Muniz expressed: “For 18 long years, I’ve been eagerly awaiting this moment. Now, let’s explore where Malcolm and his family have ended up.
25 years ago, we first aired Malcolm in the Middle. I’m so thrilled about it that I might have accidentally wet myself a tiny bit!
Malcolm in the Middle is streaming now on Disney+.
