The first trailer for the new Malcolm in the Middle series is out, and it shows Frankie Muniz and Bryan Cranston returning as Malcolm and Hal.
The four-part series will debut on Hulu and Disney Plus on April 10th, bringing back Jane Kaczmarek as the mother, Lois. Original cast members Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield will also return as Malcolm’s brothers, Francis and Reese.
I’m so excited about the new cast for the reboot! They’ve added Anthony Timpano as Jamie, who’s Malcolm’s little brother, and Vaughan Murrae will be playing Kelly, Malcolm’s youngest sibling—and it’s awesome that Kelly is non-binary!

Malcolm, who has been estranged from his family for more than ten years, is forced to reconnect when his parents, Hal and Lois, request he attend their 40th wedding anniversary celebration.
The latest trailer reveals Malcolm is pulled back into the chaos of his family when Lois tells him he’s been deliberately distancing himself from them for years.

As the trailer begins, Malcolm shares that he’s doing incredibly well, explaining, ‘All I had to do is stay away from my family.’
Based on the trailer for the new four-part series, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, the show promises more of the same hilarious family chaos fans loved before.
I was surprised to hear they were recasting Dewey for the revival! Apparently, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is taking over the role of Dewey as the younger brother. It sounds like Erik Per Sullivan, who originally played him, decided to step away from acting a few years ago when he turned 18, which is totally understandable.

Fans reacted to the first trailer on YouTube, expressing sadness that the character Dewey had been played by a different actor. One commenter summed up the feeling, writing, “It doesn’t feel quite right without the original Dewey.”
One fan wrote that they wished the show had simply written off the character instead of recasting him with a new actor. They felt a justified reason for the character’s departure would have been better than just replacing the original actor.
One viewer shared that seeing the show brought back a lot of childhood memories and expressed a wish that the character Dewey was included. Another viewer pointed out they hadn’t seen much of the new actor playing Dewey and hoped he would do a good job.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair is set for release on Hulu and Disney Plus on 10 April.
