A recent photo from the upcoming revival of Malcolm in the Middle indicates the new series will continue a popular tradition from the original.
A reboot of the popular 2000s comedy Malcolm in the Middle, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, is scheduled to come out in April. It will bring back the original characters almost twenty years after the show ended in 2007.
A recent image from Screen Rant shows the show’s reboot will finally give fans the Christmas special they’ve always wanted. The original series didn’t include a holiday episode in its final season, leaving many viewers who enjoyed the family’s quirky Christmas traditions feeling let down.

It looks like the show is bringing back the holiday spirit with a special Christmas episode. A newly released photo shows the whole family – Malcolm, Reece, Francis, Dewey, and even Francis’s wife, Piama – gathered on a couch in front of a Christmas tree.
Okay, so we’re all gathered around opening gifts, and everyone looks totally stunned by something Dewey just blurted out. Apparently, this is the first Christmas episode the show’s done in over two decades! It’s pretty wild.

The show is returning in 2024 with a four-episode revival. The story brings Malcolm back home for a family reunion to celebrate his parents, Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek)’s, 40th wedding anniversary.
When Malcolm reconnects with his family, it complicates his efforts to keep them separate from his daughter, Leah, and his girlfriend, Tristan.

Nearly all of the original actors are back for the show’s revival, with the exception of Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey, and has been replaced by Ellsworth-Clark. Filming wrapped up in May of last year.
Joining Karsten and Madeira, Anthony Timpano will play Jamie, and Vaughan Murrae will play Kelly – a new character hinted at in the original series finale when Lois announced her pregnancy.
Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair airs on 10 April on Disney+ and Hulu.
