Malaysian TikTok star Athira Auni dead at 21 after motorcycle crash

Reports say that Nurul Athira Auni Mohamad Hafizzan, a popular TikTok creator from Malaysia, has passed away at the young age of 21.

Hafizzan, who went by the online name Athira Auni, reportedly died in a motorcycle accident on Jalan Tanjung Lumpur in Malaysia early Saturday morning, as reported by The Sinar Daily.

According to Kuantan police, Hafizzan was hit by another motorcyclist around 2:30 AM. The other rider, a 20-year-old student, is believed to be at fault, according to Assistant Commissioner Ashari Abu Samah.

According to Samah, the victim was riding in the right lane when a motorcycle, driven by the student, hit her from behind.

Auni died at the scene of the accident. The other driver sustained injuries to their hands, elbows, and thighs.

Samah thinks the student steered left to miss Auni’s vehicle. However, Auni reportedly moved her bike in that same direction around the same time, contributing to the incident.

The two vehicles crashed after both drivers reportedly started moving forward at the same time and in the same direction.

According to People magazine, Auni had over 77,000 followers on TikTok before her account was deleted.

On her TikTok, she livestreamed her making roti canai while working at her father’s food stall.
