Major Spider-Man 4 Villain Leading The Hand Gets New Details

The upcoming Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day,” is expected to feature plenty of villains, and reports suggest another one may be joining the cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I’m so excited for the next movie! It’s been four years since ‘No Way Home,’ and apparently, Peter Parker will have faced a lot more villains by now. We already know Tombstone, Scorpion, Tarantula, Boomerang, and the Hand will be in it, which is awesome, and there’s even talk that Rhino, the Jackal, and 8-Ball might show up too! It sounds like they’re really building up a great collection of enemies for him to fight.

The Hand, a ninja group, was first seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the Daredevil series. They reappeared in Iron Fist and The Defenders. Though it seemed like they were defeated in The Defenders, their presence in the Brand New Day storyline indicates they’ve returned with a new leader.

Who is leading The Hand in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

The Netflix series The Defenders introduced the Hand’s leaders – known as the Five Founders: Alexandra Reid (Sigourney Weaver), Murakami (Yutaka Takeuchi), Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho), Bakuto (Ramón Rodríguez), and Sowande (Babs Olusanmokun). By the end of the series, all five of them were killed.

A post by Perez on X indicates that the Spider-Queen, a strong and mind-controlling character from Spider-Man comics, is likely to become the new leader of the Hand.

According to scooper The Beyond Reporter on X, the prison fight scene featuring Spider-Man and the Hand in the Brand New Day trailer is actually part of a longer action sequence that also includes Man-Spider and the Punisher.

Although The Beyond Scooper hasn’t reported on Daredevil’s involvement, another source, MAJESTIC_ucm, suggests he’ll be part of the fight against the Hand. This fits with their established connection in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the script for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The movie is planned for release on July 31, 2026, and will be part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
