Major EastEnders star ‘QUITS the show after three years to pursue other opportunities’

Bobby Brazier is leaving his role on EastEnders after three years.

In 2022, the young actor, aged 22, made his debut on the soap opera as Freddy Slater. Interestingly, he received the National Television Award for Emerging Talent due to his exceptional performances on the program.

But Bobby has been inundated with other offers since taking part on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023.

According to The Sun, the actor will leave Albert Square later this year.  

A representative from EastEnders stated: ‘It is true that Bobby Brazier is departing from EastEnders. We extend our warmest wishes to him as he moves forward in his career.’

According to reports, the bosses held a meeting with Bobby not long ago, as they had an idea brewing for a plot development. Interestingly, Bobby was simultaneously considering seeking new ventures beyond the series at that very moment.

‘Both parties found the timing of the decision beneficial, however, Freddie Slater’s final scenes will be shown at a later date. Bobby has had an impressive tenure on the show, but now seems the perfect moment for him to pursue new opportunities. Meanwhile, EastEnders is preparing to bid farewell to Freddie Slater.’

TopMob has contacted a representative of Bobby Brazier for comment. 

Bobby admitted he had splurged quite a bit following his unexpected rise to fame when he appeared on Strictly.

Additionally, he playfully commented that the increased popularity had him “blossoming” under the admiration of elderly women, who, he mentioned, appreciated his dance moves involving swiveling hips.

In the competition, Bobby came in second, just after Ellie Leach, and received praise for a touching tribute performance dedicated to his late mom, Jade Goody.

Discussing his experience with TopMob regarding the TV show, Bobby maintained that he stayed authentic amidst the limelight, even addressing false stories about him relocating to Hollywood. However, he chuckled and added, “I’ve certainly splurged a lot of cash.

You tend to go along with things as they come without much alteration, and your personal experiences differ significantly from the public view. I’m deeply engrossed in my own journey, so I prefer not to be swayed by others’ opinions and discussions.

Instead, you could say: “It was nice to know that many elderly women appreciated my physique, especially my hips. I found that endearing, and it gave me confidence.

Following Clair Norris, who starred alongside Bobby on the long-running BBC One soap, speaking candidly about her emotional exit.

The star, 27, who joined the cast in 2017 as Bernie Taylor, is leaving the show after eight years. 

Her departure mirrors the slow goodbye of the entire Taylor clan, causing the show’s creators to write off her beloved character, a move that left Clair heartbroken.

Despite the disappointment, Clair shared that she’s now looking forward to what the future holds. 

In conversation with The Sun, she expressed: “Certainly, it’s disheartening, but given that I spent eight years playing this character, it feels like a significant part of my life. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this series.
