Major BBC comedy’s Christmas special pulled from schedules in last-minute shake-up

The BBC has delayed airing the Christmas special of the comedy show Mandy. Originally planned for December 22nd, it will now be broadcast in 2026.

Diane Morgan, known for playing Philomena Cunk, stars as a wonderfully clumsy character in this show. It’s been running for four seasons, plus a holiday special, and follows her attempts at different jobs – which, unsurprisingly, don’t often go smoothly.

This year’s holiday special is called ‘The Mandy Who Knew Too Much’. The story follows Mandy, who usually avoids getting involved in international affairs – especially during the cozy Christmas season. But when she does get involved, she surprisingly has a huge impact on world events.

According to Digital Spy, the special was filmed in January during the production of season four. Recently, some parts were updated before its release.

Details about the changes to the specialized facility haven’t been released yet, and Morgan hasn’t commented on the matter publicly.

While a fifth season hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, it’s not unusual. The fourth season wasn’t announced until just before filming started in January, so we might have to wait for similar news about season five.

The gap in the schedule has now been filled by an airing of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice.
