Maitland Ward on Her Empowering Adult Film Career Post-Boy Meets World
In the ’90s, Maitland Ward gained notoriety for her acting work on television, notably in the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful”. Following this, she seemingly achieved even more recognition when she joined the cast of “Boy Meets World”, portraying Rachel McGuire. After 2007, Ward moved away from mainstream roles, instead focusing on adult film acting. Now that her career in adult films persists, she’s been expressing her thoughts about the media coverage surrounding her transition to this field.
Ward spoke with People earlier this year and, during the conversation, she spoke about the “empowerment” she feels, thanks to her adult film career. As she put it, she’s being treated “with more respect now.” The BMW alum subsequently took to Instagram to express her contentment with her porn career “being written about”:
This week’s story, along with all the press surrounding it, has been absolutely fantastic! I feel incredibly proud and touched that my professional journey is being highlighted in such a positive manner. Furthermore, having numerous female journalists and editors discuss and praise my career and decisions is an incredible experience. I am deeply humbled and extremely grateful for this recognition.
In various communities, adult films are still considered off-limits, but there’s been a noticeable shift towards more acceptance. As for Maitland Ward, she appears to embrace discussions about her professional journey. Remarkably, this openness might be even more rewarding given that she confided to People that her fans were initially skeptical of her new career choice. However, it seems this apprehension has since subsided significantly. Intriguingly, Ward has disclosed that some cast members from “Boy Meets World” have been supportive of her foray into the adult film industry, including Will Friedle, Trina McGee, and Ben Savage.
It appears that Maitland Ward’s shift into the adult entertainment sector has gone quite well. She first appeared in the movie “Drive,” which was warmly received and granted her the Best Supporting Actress accolade at the AVN Awards. Following this, she continued to establish herself, even starring in the acclaimed pornographic drama series “Muse.
Beyond her achievements in films and television, Ward has successfully established a personal brand on OnlyFans, earning an impressive six-figure income monthly. This not only provides financial gain, but she also feels it enhances her connection with her fan base.
More on Maitland Ward

In an interview on a podcast, Maitland Ward discussed the disagreement she had with Danielle Fishel on the Boy Meets World podcast: “Danielle seemed to be trying to unsettle me.
It’s clear why Ward is passionate about her career in pornography. Previously, she shared that she felt “sexualized” during her time on the set of “Boy Meets World,” as she didn’t fully understand the adult themes in some scenes at the time. In an interview with People, Ward expressed that she feels most comfortable on a porn set because open discussions about sensitive topics are encouraged. With greater control over her work, she also feels more confident and empowered to shape the narrative around it.
As a movie enthusiast, I must say it’s fantastic to see Maitland Ward thriving and radiating positivity. While some may have been taken aback by her career change into the adult film industry, it’s hard to dispute the success she’s achieved and the empowerment she’s found in this new path. For those who yearn for her sitcom days, you can still enjoy episodes of Boy Meets World by subscribing to Disney+.
